Available for adoption NOW HAWKINS age: Approx. 20 years sex: Gelding color: Bay breed: Thoroughbred height: 16.1+ HH adoption fee: FREE with Gift contract this photo is from July 2005 This photo is from September 2005: This skinny but dignified older gelding needs lots of TLC, he has an old hernia and appears a bit stiff. He had shoes on him and why someone would ride a horse as skinny as Hawkins is uncomprehendable? Hawkins has completed 30 days of quarantine and is ready for his new home. He has been wormed, vaccinated, and had his teeth floated. He has been receiving a high-fat mush diet to supplement his diet and help him gain weight faster, as he is still quite underweight. Sponsored by snboone1. Currently in foster care in Elma, WA. Contact Kim for more information at: windyrein@msn.comMore Hawkins photos: pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/critters_everywhere/album?.dir=/3be2

Wow. That's going to make it difficult for you to recover your sponsorship money, isn't it? Did they ask you before they made this decision?

Sharon, did anyone from CBER ever talk to you about that? I can't believe they "made that decision" without consulting you!
So are we going to help you place him? Should we make SAFE the contact person for him?

no one has talked to me, windy did answer an email about a week after I started trying to find out what was up. I emailed the contact the day after it was posted on his thread. I have pm'd a couple of volunteers to try to get someone to talk to me about it. Other than a note from Windy saying she would try to see what was going on nothing.

I agree with everyone who thinks that Hawkins should stay with Clayton until we find him a forever home. Sharon B, what would you like to see happen? Can we talk to CBER on Sharon's behalf?

Someone was suggesting trading Hawkins for Santorni(sp?). Since EBO seems to like CBER and not SAFE....

I hope that it can be arranged for Hawkins to stay at Clayton's. I could commit some $$/mo. to help with his expenses if that would help. The idea of moving him is anathema, to me.

Ok, right or wrong, I just emailed Ms. Clark and asked if they would consider me as an adopter for Hawkins. I'll need help finding boarding if Clayton does not wish to board him and my offier is approved. I sincerely hope everyone is ok with this.

Awesome, lildun!! Thank you. Hawkins will fit right in. He doesn't have too big of a butt to fit in your shelter. If so, we did discuss that shelter expanding party. ;D

If so, we did discuss that shelter expanding party. ;D Now, this is only going to work if he can stay at Clayton's. He's too feeble for life on the mountaintop. The whole point is for him to stay with people that seem to love him and take such good care of him.
