Benelli is the daughter of Rock N Love. Who is the son of Rock N Moon. (Morph) I am pretty sure that Rock N Love is the sire of Cassie. Who belongs to Ally, (myhorsefaith).

Yup- Cassie is with me & doing quite well. She just came back from spending a week with Jon Ensign- and did really well. The purpose was to do a bit of evaluation as I started her myself, and have been the only person to ever ride her and really work her. In addition, even after all these years, Cassie is still really quite cautious of other handlers. As endearing and ego boosting as that is, the mare needs to be able to tolerate working with others. She has more work to do in that area, but the week with Jon proved to be successful. I had been in touch with Benelli's adopter, but lost contact over time. I just had the good fortune of connecting with Benelli's new owner, and catching up with her. All is well on that front- so it appears. She's in South Dakota. I don't know of any other family members- i seem to recall their sire, Rock N Love being for sale a couple years ago, but that part of my memory is foggy. ETA: here is a link to a thread on another board that has pictures of Benelli: www.horsegroomingsupplies.com/horse-forums/benelli-pictures-216122.html And some recent of Cassie:

I've just read the whole thread on Morpheous, and looking at all the pictures and the debate on his coloration, here's my 2 cents: It looks like he may be a silver chestnut. They are often mistaken for palominos, but in actuality are chestnut with the "silver' gene. If anyone here has more knowledge on silvers, maybe you can let me know what you think...

If Peggy wanted to find out the real color of Morph, she can check out this website. www.vgl.ucdavis.edu/services/coatcolorhorse.phpYou can send in a hair sample and they will send back a report on the coat color. There are also various tests you can get from UCDavis in regards to genetic flaws. I love their website. It has so much useful info. Here is the link for HYPP, HERDA and other tests. The cost is reasonable too. www.vgl.ucdavis.edu/services/horse.php

My 18 mo old grandson calls him MOE MOE I dont think, but what do I know, he is Palamino. His spots are dark not golden. Whitewolf posted on " Get ready for the COLD weather!!!" thread ( general chat ) a story with pictures I sent her on Mortph. This morning he was quite upset that he didnt get to go out w/the other 3 stooges. Has a very magnificant stance, very proud. He shook and tossed his head and pranced back and forth at the gate. With all that energy, I could just see myself mud-skiing behind him and down the hill, thru the woods to grandmas house.....wait, I am Grandma ..NO, thats that other lady, I'M the NANA !!!!! ;D

I'll never forget seeing Morph at Chucks. It puts a big smile on my face knowing that he is FINALLY safe thanks to so many who went above and beyond.
He truly is one of the most interesting colored horses I have ever seen, second only to another lot horse (badly injured mare) whose name is escaping me at the moment.

"WE" just might have to put a bee in Miz Trilliums bonnet for a ride up to the show..... The color umber comes to mind, but mine is tired... He is a mocha or cocoa brown and depending on the season , with lots of whipped cream added

I went back and looked at all the pictures posted of Morpheus, and I really think he may be a silver chestnut. They typically have the "Mocha" color mentioned and white manes and tails. I know when you hear the word "chestnut" you think red, but the silver gene alters that. There is a 4yo stallion showing in my club who is a silver - he is slightly darker than Morpheous, as his Appaloosa coloration pattern is different, but he has the same mocha color and white mane and tail. There was also a mare that showed a few years back that was registered as a palomino, but she was a silver too. Here is the web address of a Silver gene website. They have only one filly listed under their appaloosa examples page, and that's probably because people rarely get their horses tested by UC Davis (unless they're REALLY curious). www.silverequine.com/ if you'd like a look. Maybe Morpheous can become a poster child for them, as his color is certainly spectacular, much more so than the filly they have pictured - though the coloration tends to become more prominant as they age according to what I've read.
