Wait, I'm confused. I believe he has a forever home now with trillium. Is there some concern here? He has a home with bsnlark. I went and got him when he had been through 3 adopters. The last one was going to take him to the auction if CBER did not come get him. They did not, and I did. I had him for a little while and then Peggy adopted him. She is a great mom for him, but if something were to happen and she could no longer care for him, he would come back here. PS- I am going to get to go see him on Sunday. Yay.

Moe Moe, as I call him , is doing great ! ;D ;D He has been with me and the kids for over a year, now. He is amazing, has cats n kittens running under him all the time. The boys n girls have been going thru some changes at the barn. Mort has been a star ! As I had mentioned earlier , his sight is very poor ! but he amazes me every day by the way he manages. This past Tues we had to make alternate room arrangements, Mort stays up at the barn, the other 3 ( unless Ish needs time away from the girls.. ) are out to pasture ( wat a joke, I should say, out to dust.... ) . The project: FINALLY getting the barn paddock and upper paddock ready to become " Sacrifice Territory " at Pooh Corners... I had 3 dump truck load of crushed rock delivered Wed, and 2 more loads will be needed ( next Wed ). Now, back to amazing Mort.....I had to remove the run out fencing from each stall, smooth out the ground, which took me until 10 pm Tues , put the fencing back up, secure it.... Take the 3 others way down to the bottom pasture approx 2 acres away from barn , lock them in, get the water there and enuf hay to last until the next evening... Back up to barn, halter Mort, bring him in barn/ stall, out the run-in and lead him around to ""see"" his new layout and how much room with out fencing he had, and where the water was, etc.. The next afternoon, I took the fencing back down, haltered Mort, and we strolled around the paddock area ( there were a cuple of 2 ft piles still in his area ).. So today & tonight he is moving around quite nicely !! Ol flatfooted ,heheh or should I say, FATflatfooted Buckwheat loves the new surface, she even trotted into the barn tonight

Good to hear! *I* knew he had a great and permanent home... I just wasn't sure if the poster understood that. bsnlark- all your kids are lucky, lucky, lucky.

I was just reading through this thread and I was wondering if the name of the breeder that dumped Morpheous at the lot was ever discovered?? ( I'm having numerous senior moments today) but from what I recall they new who his owner was at the time. There is also,I cant remember her name either, a poster on SAFE who has one of Rocky's offspring. There arent many listed , so I dont know of any others. I would think since he wasnt gelded until he was 20 that there might be other chil'ns out there somewhere . Ive found his most favorite 'scritching' spot,( typically male to the end....) right between his hind legs. Displays quite a bit of dexterity by raising either leg approx 90 degrees, like a big ol dog... Im also guessing he was named Morpheous because of his color changes.

I agree with Cat's earlier posts that nothing stops bad behaviour more tham public shame. It would ne nice to know the names of the people that dump horses so I could divert my money elsewhere. I would especially like to know who the TB breeders, nationwide, that dump their horses at feed lots. Grrrrr.

I think Ally might know, Cassie is Morph's daughter I believe. From the notes I keep about horses: Morpheous (Rock N Moon)is the sire of Rock N Love and he is the sire of Cassie. So Cassie is his grandaughter. They are from- Sunpointe Ranch in Benton City Morph was owned by Larry Armstrong and Carol Anderson, they divorced and she married a man by the name or Torgney(sp). I believe he is the one who sent Morpheous to the lot. I tnink the people at the lot gave him this name too. (But do not know for certain). Modified to fix a name

I got to go see Mr Mort today ;D He looks sooo good. Peggy is taking wonderful care of him. It was a overcast, kind of rainy day today, so he did not have to wear his eye protection. He has such great expression in his face. Here he is getting a scratch in his favorite place. He will raise his hind leg up with pleasure as Peggy is scratching him. I did not get the camera out fast enough to catch him doing it, but it is sure funny to see. Thanks Peggy for taking such good care of him. Again he looks great and you have done so much work around your place, it is looking great too.

Today he was more of a moca moca w/ little dots of whipped cream....instead of more cream than moca And I learned a secret, Mort has been ridden before and I still have both my arms n legs left uninjured, soooooo Im not tell'n when, but ya never know what Ill do next...............

He is a handsome horse. I knew a gelding that would lift his hind like a dog when you scratched him in the right place. It shocked me the first time I saw it - Thought he was gonna fall over!!

I know wat u mean !! But since Morpht has now given up his secret, that he can stand on 3 legs, he can knock off the fake falling over when I clean his feet ;D ;D

Moved this from the 'fake' Morpheus thread.... And thank you Hooti for the information on Benelli..and the other parts of the family Here is more on Benelli: "Benelli is 16.1hh, black and has her 'full' ApHC papers but while she is definately characteristic she is very lacking with obvious pattern (she does have enough very small spots [and is starting to varnish finally] to 'count'). While she has her 'full' papers, to me she is only 1/4Appaloosa - her sire is ApHC but he is by an ApHC, out of an Arabian, her dam is Appendix being by a JC out of an AQHA, so she's 1/4 Appaloosa, 1/4 Arabian, 1/4 TB, and 1/4 Quarter. In 2006, her only year of showing she qualified for Regionals in USDF DSHB and got the 2006 All-Breed Award for DSHB 1st Place Mature horse:Yeld/Maiden Mare (Appaloosa Horse Club)"
