Peggy, I always love your updates! That's why I had to ask. Your horses are so spoiled and with every word you type you can almost hear how much you love them.
Glad to hear the herd is well!

;D Youre very welcome.. After I finished my post it was din din time. Got them all situated, each w/ a teaser of grain ( or thats what I tell Buck, what she doesnt know wont go to her waistline....). They're all finished w/ that 1st entree, but the cook/server was off doing the other cleaning/watering etc chores....Took waaay, waay too long for the Princess. Next thing I know, her bucket flys over the stall wall into the aisle. And Morpt has learned to 'count' while waiting for his grain. Buckie doesn the head-turn , smile, and leg lift , and my goood ol Ish, he just waits and nickers quietly. PS, I have found that having your horses right outside your backdeck can both be the 'obvious' pleasure and somewhat of a hazard. Being able to go out and peek, " hmmmm, are they too cold, too wet, too hot ? Oh, my they will get soaked ! It's 90 degrees outside , why are you standing in the sun Oh, gee, I just put those clean blankets on you guys, way to go .....!!!! Knock it off, Buckwheat ! Get off the fence, Lark , or Ill turn it back on !!!! zzzzzzt Makes me wonder if there is any 'sense' in these 'horses' besides nonsense.... I have to stop and remind myself , they are horses, but each and everyone of them has earned to right to the specialty service at the Mo BS n Lark mud spa..LOL P

Mortie knows hes a very stylish guy. He prances, and swings his head in a like " get away from me, dont you know who I am .? shoo shoo off w/ the likes of you..." manner. He is amazing to watch, I forgot to mention that I also take him by lead down to the pasture so he can have a little 'real horse' time away from barn paddock. I have to keep him on the long line, it seems there are still some trees down in my pasture that my SiL cut 3 yrs ago. P

Mort says he is .... a blended hot chocolate w/ lots of whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles...and solid as a rock LOL...is that a new "official" color combination? Maybe we should suggest it to the Appy registry! Such a beautiful boy. You're so lucky to walk into your pasture to that every day, Peggy!

LOL...is that a new "official" color combination? Maybe we should suggest it to the Appy registry! Such a beautiful boy. You're so lucky to walk into your pasture to that every day, Peggy! Oh, please do, you see he is not just your plain ol MOCHA, he likes the term choc co la la la te Actually, the area I took the pictures is a section on the property, which I will be changing into 2 smaller areas with wood fencing, just for " Mort 2 Me "... ( as you see, it IS allll abt him..hahah ) He's my buddy .. I have to hand walk him from the barn to get to this area, he is normally in my lrg paddock at the barn. There is no grass inside this area for him, so we take walks. His sight is not good, but w/ hand walking he can make it down the incline and into this pasture where it is flat and as you can see I keep him on a long line.( Since it is still elec tape, but not on ....he cant see it untill he would be ontop of it or in it, should he decide to do some manly, but gelded ( hahahahhaaa, ) exercise... There are 2 very large trees plus a very large half burned out stump. Mort can see these, but not the smaller items. So when it is all refenced, this will give me the opportunity to let Mort be closer to the other 3 goofoffs , er horses...have grass, trees/shade, more rolling room, less mud, and even some showing off. More on the other 3 cluck heads soon.... FYI, the cat is TURBO ,he even rides atop mort...

Morpheous, the poor arab-appy cross gelding is once again in dire straits. He is in Corvallis and if he does not find a home immediatly, he will go to the Eugene aution tomorrow. For those of you unfamiliar with his story, it is a long and sad one. He was purchased from CBER, then abandoned at a boarding facility. Then bought again and moved to California. Were he was abandoned again. The last place he was can not keep him and had arranged to have him move to Montana to a new home. Only to have that fall through in transport. He is now in Corvallis and if a new home is not found will be sent to the Eugene aution in the morning. This just breaks my heart as I have always been drawn to him since the first day I saw him. (It must of been the arab in him) I will take him as an act of desperation to keep him from going to the auction. Can you imagine what will happen to him there? BUT I do not need another horse. Can anyone help him. I will go get him and take him to anyone in the Portland area. Free of charge, if someone can take him. He has a sight problem, probably due to his appy breeding, and is partially blind. Anyone out there willing to take on a big project? Maybe in time there would be room for him at Rolling Dog Ranch. :'(After all we did to get him out of the feedlot, to be save him from abandonment and again ...Thank you for loving him... Loved him then and love him now.....chatty

Wait, I'm confused. I believe he has a forever home now with trillium. Is there some concern here?

I don't think so, I think Chatty is probably reading thru the whole thread and responding to what happened back in May.
