That's OK...I have those moments all the time. I just did not want people to think Connie had left him in the trailer all night. Make sure to hide those kitties when we come up. Kathryn will want to put one in her pocket and bring it home. Nooooo, I have enough kitty kats. I bet I am not the only one who is not bothered by the smell of horse manure. I love the smell of my horse barn. That is how you can tell who the really kooky horse people are. (See me raise my hand!) I love the smell of the hay and shavings and the horse smell. The only time I don't like it, is if alot of alfalfa is fed to horses. Then their pee is really strong. But I feed grass hay, so no strong pee smell in my barn.

I'm glad he was not left in the trailer all night, but her buddy did post on a proboard that she was sending him to auction, which is even worse. Thank God you went to pick him up....

I do leave a fly mask on Cassie for the most part. I do it just because I dont want sunburn on her eyes. I need to stop and get some more sun screen for her appy nose! They have those fly mask with eyes, sunglasses and lady bugs on them at Rebers Ranch for like $26.99. Thats where I got Miss Cassie's! When I get Cassie's reg papers I will be able to keep track of her pedigree like I do with my filly. I cant wait to see more updates on Mr Morph.

I was asked by blazinsaddles to post this for her. She has been concerned that people thought she had left Morph on the trailer all night. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
hey laurie thanks for telling them again that he was not on the trailer would you please post this attention all, please let me clarify a few things 1) normally i do not take any horse to auction so please let me explain why this was posted about morph going there here i sat driving Morph to the meeting point ( my cell phone does not work outside of cali its a cheap metro phone) when i got to the meeting point i listened to my messages and low and behold the persons orgionally taking him had backed out. ok normally no big deal so i decide to stay a day and then just hoof it on back to cali after dropping the other mare who i had on the rig. go to fuel up and holy cats my account says declined go to the bank and discover hubby had cleaned it out and closed Ok ( start to panic) i have a few bucks in cash but not enough to get me and kids home. so i call the lady who had made me an offer on my trailer and tell her i will take it and i sale my riding gelding to my friend ok so we have some money. BUT WAIT my brain goes OMG what about Morph. i have to deliver said mare and trailer i have no way for him home. he cant stay where he had slept because her fences are not blind horse safe he has already crashed into them. OMG where is he gonna go. hence the posting where else would he have gone. some one needed to come get him and i dont think any one realized the spot i was in. i needed everyone to understand i needed some one fast he could not wait. I am forever greatful for laurie and her coming and getting him. i was at my whits end, i had been trying to rehome him for a few months many offers but no one ever came through. and yes in the beginning when i posted he had been left and given to me he had a ride offer to washignton and i was confused because i had listened to others that he would end up at the lot.( so i made a mistake and said NO) so i take responsibilty for that mistake. but also at that time he had no definate place to go either no one had said yes he will go here and this person will bring him.but i have always stated that my kids come first and when my husband left and took all the money i paniced and had to make sure we had a roof over our heads and food. I sold off the ones that could be and laid to rest the ones who were old or blind and i have one who my good friend is supporting for me untill i can afford to do so and that wont happen till my feet land back on the ground. i met many people on the board and had some good friendships. i wish you all greatness and save many more lives which i know you will. best wishes to all.... blazinsaddles Will you post this on the ro board and the safe board for me it somewhat explains why i did what i did and while it is not an excuse it is the reason the things happened the way they did . please let me know if the first attachment comes through with this email -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
She is going to send me all the information she has on Morph. I think she has talked to Tourgney(sp) the man who used to own him.

Thanks for the quick reply, my nose was pretty stuffed up...

Not yet, we are going to take him up this morning. We spent a little time yesterday making sure the fence was visible enough for him.

The barn area fences (no climb wire ) were very saggy from the others leaning over them. The previous owner didnt have enough support between each post. Kurt is a fence master, and the fences look brand new.!! He restretched all the wire , added some new round poles on the creek side, and added new t posts on the hillside. Then Laurie and her mom wove white electric tape thru the fencing, I think 4/ or 3 strands on each fence. Its so tight and visible ;D Kinda like me and my wallet The outside area from the stall we enlarged by moving some rails, and W/n the next cuple of weeks I'' have rock/ gravel put down to make it more stable/ and not get as wet. Wonderful family , and they had to check Kathryns pockets before they left to see if there were any Kitties in them AAAAAAAAAAAAND, there will be pictures soon....( Cat get over here w/ the camera ...)

;D ;D ;D MORT, is here !! Laurie , I'm sure will post pictures later. He made a very smooth transition, and has been outside all day in his own private yard, overlookng the beautiful but baren terrain. Lark, the whorish Buckwheat, and Ish can come up to the gate and spend time with Mort , but then they leave and Mort waits and knickers for them to come back. Buck has been parading her butt at Mort all day, and doing that ugly thing she does w/her mouth ( not the cute lip smelling curl ).Maybe she wants all the guys to know tht at her age she still has all her teeth And Mort, whos not at all shy, reciprocated by dangling his stuff, ( I think Ish might have been abit embarassed by the size comparison ) (forgot the best part..adding in ) Mort got down and ROLLED ;D ;D Not just once, he got up and turned and then gave the other side a good ROLL.. It was great to watch him be that comfortable... Mort and I walked around alittle, and then I took him inside and reaquainted him with his new 3 room suite. Then I let the other 3 into the outside barn area to eat closer to Mort, so he can hear them and they can talk over his fence. So today has been a total positive experience for Mort....Thank you Laurie and Kurt !!!!! and "Mom" and Kathryn Peggy The horse has bowels of steel. He didnt poop until I took him back into the stall area ( he went outside on his patio ). This has been since before 10 am, I was amazed.

Mort, aka Morph, aka Rocky left the trailer full, so that is probably why it took awhile for him to go potty. Here is a picture taken today when we dropped him off. It is funny, I had bad dreams last night about him going away today. I am such a worry wart. When we came home, I automatically looked over to his paddock, and was sad that he was not there. I know he will be fine at Peggy's, but I will miss him. You can ask her, I was even obsessing over the little bumps in the ground. I have visitation rights though. Many thanks to you Peggy. And yes, we have an adoption contract between us. It is the first time I have dealt with an adoption contract. I borrowed some of the wording from SAFEs and looked up some online. BTW, it is amazing to read some of the contracts different horse rescues use. Just Google horse adoption contracts and read through a few.
