I think he bolted his grain a while back, if I recall?

Yes, he bolted his grain and choked. Now we soften it to minimize the choke risk. He loves his grain!

The funny this is, when I first read the ads on Dreamhorse for Rusty and Titan/Pal, my initial thought was that they were rescue horses because they were HAVING seizures! Then of course, I read it more carefully . . . .

I visited Titan at his foster home last weekend and he sure has filled out nicely. He really sparkles, like he has glitter on him, his coat is so beautiful. And those eyes! He is really athletic, sweet and smart. What a gem!

What a great boy our Peanut (a.k.a. Titan/Pal) is! It has been a busy couple of days at our place - we found out mid day yesterday that we needed to move in a filly with an injury - which meant Peanut would need to go back to Jaime's. So, we got the stall ready last night and waited for her to arrive - the plan was to move Peanut to Jaime's after getting the filly settled in. Well....things didnt go as planned. Our mare (who tends to not be very nice sometimes) was being nasty to our new arrival. She would run towards the stall with her teeth bared and ears pinned back - poor little filly had no idea what to think. Peanut was such a champ - he would chase off our mare when she was being mean. He was taking such good care of the filly and totally "protecting" her from our mare. He shakes his head at Luna when she even acts like she might be mean - as if to say "Oh no you don't - you better not even try it!" So.....we decided to keep Peanut here - he seems to really enjoy protecting the filly. It is so cute to watch! We have gotten so attached to him - it will be truly hard to see him go - when he finds his new family. But for now his new job is protecting the filly and he is quite good at it. Someone willl have a great companion with Peanut - he truly is a one of kind gentle horse!

Daphne Jones (The Bare Horse Training and Trimming) did Peanut's (Titan/Pal) feet last week - she did this as a donation to S.A.F.E. Daphne has a very calm, gentle manner with the horses and they all truly love her! Big thanks to Daphne for her contribution to his care!

I simply can't believe this horse hasn't found a home yet! He is so athletic, he could go in any direction; low eventer, dressage, penning, etc. The list could go on and on!

I'm with you... Rusty was gone like *that*... and this gorgeous boy, with his beautiful coloring and personality.... just goes to show it's hard to find good homes for a horse regardless of all the things in their favor.

I have spread the word to a couple people wanting a horse like Titan. They were going to contact person on his bio page and get an application completed!

I hope he finds his people soon. He looks so cute right now, all fuzzy, and he is so bright and curious. He will be a Superstar in whatever direction he goes; this horse is raw potential. I think we need some updated pictures..........

I rode Titan over the weekend, on Saturday. While tacking up in the crossties he was all over the place, couldn't stand still, didn't want to pick up his back feet; although thoroughly enjoyed his currying. Super hot on the lunge line, didn't want to walk, so I let him get a few good bucks out and he started to listen after he got that out of his system. He stood quietly while mounting and responded well to "go" and "stop". Not much bend in him, but there is some. He is VERY sensitive to his rider and draws his confidence from his handler so he will need a quiet, confident rider. He has a nice forward trot and a rocking chair canter (when he relaxes into it). He tucked his head to his chest quite a bit, so I rode him on a loose rein and focused on him reaching down and stretching through his back. No spook or bolt, but he was looking around at everything. After our ride he stood like an angel in the crossties. Go figure He is super sensitive to the riders movement and tries very hard to do what is asked of him. He is not a beginner horse and will need finishing, but he has a great mind, tons of potential and is a very pretty, english-type mover. Did I mention he is as sweet as apple pie?

Oh......I am so glad you got to ride him. Dr Hannah is hoping to ride him later in the week - although the snow has put some "kinks" in her schedule. We miss having him here! He really is a sweet, sweet guy. We have had a number of responses to his ads recently (lots of "looky loo's") - and we have one application in for him right now that looks promising. Hopefully we can arrange for them to come and meet him soon.
