For the record he was out with my mare( although she is on Regumate and does not cycle) and he was never studdy. He was interested in others but always well behaved. I am so happy to have confirmation that he is broke as we suspected, and should be easier to place in a good safe place.

What are we looking at for these boys's adoption fees?

Looks like it is going to be $600, but not 100% final yet.
Titan (we've settled on sticking with his old name, it suits him better than Pal), got to meet Dr. Hannah and her wonderful assistant Kelsey today and was a very good boy. At first he didn't think he wanted to be caught, but after he ran around and played for a bit, he decided he wanted to be caught after all. I can really see a change in this horse since I had him last, Chelsea has done a wonderful job helping him get over some of his fears. Hannah was able to easily pick up all four feet so he should be no problem for his trim this week (Chelsea's farrier had some trouble with his hind feet last time). He was calm and quiet and very good when Hannah looked in his mouth. His teeth need to be done as well as his shots, which will be next for him. Also, it looks like he will be moving in with Kelsey and her mom (clearlybluebreeze) for a while, to hopefully keep their mare company so she will quit colicking on them at night. He will have the advantage of both Hannah and Kelsey's constant eyes on him so I know he will be in wonderful hands, and hopefully they will be able to work with him a bit (thanks to the wonderful offer from Redmond! to share his arena next door!
Oh, and he was out with Maggie today, as Maggie's boyfriend Slam is laid up on stall rest for an abcess (sigh...TBs...). Maggie is usually very submissive and Titan very dominant, so imagine my surprise when Maggie was trying to MOW HIM DOWN and he was running from her with his tail between his legs. ;D

Oh, and he was out with Maggie today, as Maggie's boyfriend Slam is laid up on stall rest for an abcess (sigh...TBs...). ;D Would it be possible for Slam to wear those Easy boots? From time to time - I have been putting them on Redmond's front feet and man! He just strides right out in them and feels much better on his ouchy days. That would keep the gravel out of his feet.... Maybe Slam could wear them during the day and off at night?

Well Slam has shoes, so they aren't really designed for shod horses. His shoe is off, Hannah pared the abcess out yesterday, so now we are just soaking and wearing our Davis boot until he is all better.

I have been VERY remiss in posting the latest update on Titan! Titan was moved to clearlybluebreeze's last weekend, where he will be a buddy to their horse Luna and where he gets the added benefit of some one-on-one attention from Dr. Hannah and her assistant (clearlybluebreeze's daughter), Kelsey. Here are some photos of his arrival - the first thing he did was roll and roll in her their lovely new sand footing: With Kelsey: Luna has a love/hate relationship with him: With Dr. Hannah: First time working with him, in the round pen: First ride: Titan gets to live next door to Redmond! Here they are riding past Chewy and Redmond's pasture:

Here is Hannah's assessment of him so far (she also had his teeth and vaccinations done, and his feet were trimmed last week, so he is all UTD on everything now and ready for his forever home). They have nicknamed him "Peanut". Peanut is well mannered and easy to handle in general but does tend to get nervous/excited in new surroundings. When he’s nervous, he gets a bit strong on the lead and walks very quickly with his head held up high, but responds to pressure on the lead to keep him under control. Under saddle he is very willing and eager to learn as long as he understands what is being asked of him and has excellent brakes. When pushed (as a test) he did offer to buck once (but didn’t try very hard). He acts like a horse that has been ridden quite a bit before, but has never had formal training. He initially did not respond to leg aids or bit pressure, but is now starting to understand leg pressure. His mouth is still quite green so we’re taking bit work slowly starting with developing a solid foundation in the basics of walk/trot/canter/halt/circle/reverse first before asking for collection. He is a pleasure to work with, seems to have good athletic potential (pending flexion tests just to be sure) and will likely make a lovely riding horse for someone wanting a straightforward project and lifelong buddy.

I must comment on Titan's new diggs, I used to drive past his former home on my way to Burlington on a weekly basis, it cannot be missed from the freeway by the way. This is the upgrade "Lottery Winner" style...wow I'm sure he will be very happy.

A big thank you goes out to Dr Hannah Evergreen who donated a Panacur Power Pack to Titan!
According to his wonderful new foster mom, clearlybluebreeze, Titan is a really good boy when it comes to eating his dewormer paste. He is obviously a very special horse! ;D

I love his new digs! How wonderful that he's settling in and doing well...and the best part is how close he lives to the chestnut puuuuuunkins! The BEST chestnut punkins....but the bad news is......I have taken quite a shine to that palomino punkin and will be very sad whenever he leaves. If I could take yet another one - I would totally take him...he's a huge cuddler. I love that horse.

When I was reading the SAFE financial, I noticed that Pal had a choke episode. What happened? Poor guy. I have only seen that once, when I went to pick up Morph.
