Leah, that would be great. I guess we are all planning really early, as some of these guys may already be adopted by then, but we can always change the plan if needed!

Just a quick thought (this may have already been mentioned) Do we have any specific Senior Horse classes? Since there are quite a few older, very happy senior horses, and the owner/riders, I think that having a few classes like that would be a good idea. Maybe a Senior Horse/Young Rider and Senior Horse/Senior Rider class? Just a thought...

The age ranges have pertained the the riders age, but it might not be a bad idea to have a senior horse division. Just to prove that old doesn't equal decrepit!
I really think that we should add a novice rider and/or green horse division.

I really think that we should add a novice rider and/or green horse division. At NWEEC, I had a show where I had a Super Senior Horse division with its own high point - horses must be 15 and up. People loved it!

Good ideas. To add more classes/divisions; the show would be pretty long. Any ideas on which ones perhaps to scratch? Maybe limit the gaming to barrels, poles and ?

How young can the kids be for leadline?! I would love to walk Alyscia around for her "first" show.

Generally it is 6 and under. My son is 3 y/o and is doing leadline. Hope this helps.

So long as the child is outfitted appropriately, with a properly fitted helmet, and is able to sit independently; 2 is probably fine. They can sit up alone at 2, right? (sorry, not around kids much )

Nope, don't think so. I would've taken my son out at 2, but he didn't have as much time in the saddle nor the perfect horse at that time. Felt he was a bit more ready this year.

In my experience, 2 year olds just don't have the patience to sit still that long on a horse by themselves. And that's a long way to fall for a squirmy kid who also doesn't have the patience to hold on while the horse walks.
Just my two cents from experience with my kids

Alyscia sits still. She loves riding the "ponies" I'm just not comfortable letting her sit by herself without me right there. So I guess she will wait till next year.

How much are the classes going to cost? Is it limited to SAFE only rescues or can any horse that has been rescued be entered? I have no idea how this is ran. The show was to far away for us last year however it is close this year.

I think the classes were $10 each (please correct me if I am wrong). Any horse that has been rescued can be entered into the Rescue division, we want to show people that rescues are great horses with tons of potential and not "broken". It would be cool if our rescue classes were bigger than the others!

"Any horse that has been rescued can be entered into the Rescue division" -
IIRC, last year we stipulated that a "rescued" horse can come from an actual physical rescue group, or be a horse that someone has taken in personally and rehabilitated - proof would be a copy of the adoption contract, or some before/after photos (in the case of a private individual who has rescued a horse).
