This story is just so unbelievable... kudos to this group who can recognize and save such a sweet soul. I am new to this board, don't have a horse, but am truly inspired.

I can tell you wonderful stories about this boy. Cameras are his "thing". He will turn into a HUGE show-off if you show him a camera. When I first bought him, he was deathly afraid of plastic bags -- they were the thing used to "ramp up" the Arabians for photos. I decided to get him over that and started feeding him carrots out of them. Ever after, he has looked at plastic bags and thought "Carrots?!" Actually Tammy- they used to chase horses on the lunge line with a plastic bag tied to the end of a whip. It would even freak my horse out when they were lunging as they would smack the horse and crack it all over the place. Although I really liked his former owner, I did not agree with some of their training techniques

Tammy, thats so exactly how he came across in the arena! he followed me around after our picture session, until I started to think about all those paddocks I had to clean... and bid him adieu.

I knew him 15 years ago, when he was owned by Diana Richards. She sold her small farm in the Bellevue area, and rented a place in Redmond with her 20+ horses, where she lived in a garage. I was a teenager and pretty much took care of her horses (I think she was depressed by her financial state). They were in OK shape back then, Krbask was 16hands and gorgeous, I LOVED HIM!! ABout 5-8 years later I saw him a an Arab show, were he had shrunk, likely from neglect by Diana. She used to have a popular farm in the 80's called Wildcliff Farms in Bellevue. You can look up horses that have 'WC" in front of their name, you will find many.

All her horses looked really good and she was VERY dedicated to them. She was teaching someone to ride at her place; I'm guessing this was some of her income. I just don't see her neglecting any of her horses and there was nothing out there to indicate poor care either. It's too bad things fell apart for her.... at one point her barn carried prestige; she bred Aza Destiny crosses

Diana must have just had her ups and downs, I must have known her at the worst, or just before the worst when she moved from the Redmond place. She was a very nice lady, and I good breeder and instructor, just too many horses at the time I think. Yeah, I knew a lot of her brood mares and her stallion "Classic" don't know his registered name. At the time her only income was selling off horses as she could.

At the time her only income was selling off horses as she could. I think his name was Classic Destiny. I first met Diana at the Redmond place many years ago- we answered an ad for a mare she had for sale. She would not let us go near her barn (it was dark, smelly and we had to stand out in the pasture while she brought horses out) and the horses looked just okay. Not skinny- just on the shabby side and not worth what she wanted at the time. She said something like she didn't have much help and going through a lot so I mostly just felt sorry for her. I was looking for boarding again several years later and ended up at her barn in Bothell. She had a gazillion sweet natured teenagers working for her, a trainer and a partner. Her horses there seemed well cared for and very loved. They were her life. I could not stand some of the scary things they did or comments she made, but I was only there to board and I tried to keep my personal opinions to myself. As a person, I really liked her. We would spend hours in her house talking over coffee and she was really sad when I left. A few years later she started sending out her halter horses to top trainers and they won quite a bit so somehow she came back into some money. Krabask was one of those horses that had far more talent than most people know what to do with. Her trainer was not a very good trainer or rider at all so I suspect he was probably just lacking good conditioning.

And what a role model/good babysitter he is for the foals! Today Biscotti followed him around like a Puppy When he got put into his stall he called out to the babies...who of course answered him and he was a little upset until the parade of foals made their way past him from the arena to their paddock....very very endearing

Here's some photos of Krabask I took yesterday. You can no longer see his ribs and he looks pretty good, although he is still sunken around his hip bones and needs more topline. He got his Tetanus shot today and will get his flu/rhino and his teeth floated in about a week.
He looks sooo much better. How about his feet, are they in good shape?
