Jet there are some pics back on page 5 of Dr. Hannah riding her. IIRC she was broke but needed some additional training. She has been with Katie for just about a year and it did sound like she was continuing to work with her. But, a seasoned trail horse is another beast altogether. What about Classy? It sounded like PK had her out on trails. ETA- this pic is of HAILEY not classy- I don't think that was clear in my post!

Haley is back at SAFE and looks good. I feel very bad for Katie as she was very upset at having to give her up. Haley loads easily but is not a good traveler and she kicked the entire time, and arrived sweating and shaking, poor girl. But she did stand quietly for being hosed off and settled down right away in my front pasture.

Wow... Late to the party as usual. Lily Wilson is a F.E.I level dressage rider/trainer and she works out of a new facility (Pumpkin Farms) in Snohomish. She trained with Gwen Blake (Donida Farms) for several years and in Europe. She recently moved from where I board at to the new facility in Snohomish. She is definitely qualified to ride anything. Glad to see she was willing to help out. She's a very nice/qualified trainer. And my shameful plug for her. www.lilywilsondressage.com/

Yup, I am very happy to have the support of two very accomplished dressage riders to help with our rescue horses!!
I met her when the owner of Pumpkin Farms contacted us via Pilchuck with an offer to donate some hay. I went out and picked up the hay (15 bales of premium Timothy from Dayville!) and was floored at their beautiful new facility. Her husband graciously gave me a grand tour of the beautiful new barn, full size indoor and outdoor arenas, two covered round pens, individual winter turnouts each with their own shelters and the grid stuff underneath and then grass pastures as well, plus a 10 acre cross-country/conditioning pasture. Drool!! But I was even more excited when Lily contacted me directly wanting to come out and meet the horses and offer her time a few days a week.
Dressage is my passion of course and it helps that I know a lot of people involved in the dressage scene, but I really feel that we are really setting these horses up for success in ANY discipline they end up in in the future - because while the horses aren't really getting "dressage" training in 2 months with Andrea or a few rides with Lily, they are getting VERY good, solid basics on them that will transfer over to any discipline.

I had someone try Haley out last week and I forgot to post about it but I was very impressed! They rode her in the western saddle and she was just great, very quiet, soft, forward, and willing. They rode her at all 3 gaits and had no problems with her whatsoever. She has turned into a really nice horse!

Hailey looks fabulous with Lily!! What a great gift to have such wonderful/talented riders volunteer their time for SAFE. SAFE really has a GREAT group of all volunteers that help.

We are still working on this one, making sure its going to be a good match for both parties. In the meantime, Haley has been moved over to Silverdale with Bonnie, where she is hauling her up to her barn 1-2 times a week and riding her there. She's doing great!
