Thanks for the warm welcome everybody!! Redmond, I am the artist. I appreciate the compliment And any info you had on getting his papers would be great, Cat! I know the place where he was seized from and I have a friend who is willing to go with me to chat with Bev about getting his paperwork or more info. It's not far from where I live- 'bout a half hour drive. I also have a friend who works (or used to work?) in the auction yard if that is where he came from. I'll contact her to see if she can help in any way. Wish me luck! I'm excited about him. I've saved all his photos and just keep looking at them. I am a sucker for blue eyed horses, and he has the most vibrant color!! He's cute AND quiet. I'm a lucky girl

I would assume Bev has his papers. If you can sweet talk them out of her, that's the easiest, but I know that APHA will back you up and get you replacements if you can't since you can show that a legal seizure took place. Let me know how it goes.
I agree, Rusty is just a gem - he's just got one of those really good minds that you can't train in. He's naturally quiet and nothing bothers him.

Congratulations Shannon! I knew everything would work out! Rusty is going to be so happy, I just know it.
The picture for your avatar is beautiful. Where can I get a print?

Bev does not have his papers. She did say that she might be able to get them from the person she bought him from.

Thanks for the compliment shekaberry! The avatar image can be found at www.shano-studio.com/warmbloods_gray.html. I appreciate you asking So, was Rusty not purchased at the Marysville auction? For some reason I was thinking he was. Not sure it makes a difference, but I would like to know everything little thing about him. Good, bad, or in between!!

I think he came from the Skagit auction, but she happened to know the seller, but I am not really sure.

Hello, nice to meet you family! Rusty was SO quiet! This is SECONDS after getting out of the horse trailer! (Chase 9, Amara 11) Usually I don't let the kids get near horses until I have been around them and found them to be safe, but Rusty was so calm! He didn't care that it was dark, there were no other horses around, and he'd been in the trailer for about 2 hours. Rusty and me Which one is Nick and which one is Rusty? Nick is actually thinking, "Um excuse me. But um, this is MY stall. Where did you come from?!" Felix introduces himself briefly but food is waiting for him. We know his priorities well. I am so impressed with Rusty. I have NEVER had a horse so calm and laid back in new surroundings. My friend and I were amazed at his disposition. He's going to be a great riding horse!!! I couldn't be happier!!

Oooh, tell us more about your other horses (especially Felix )! LOL...you all had to know that was coming. Liz has a special place in her heart for Arabs. Is Nick another "paint that ain't"?

Rusty's friends (I hope!) Hee! I love my horses sooo much. Felix is a 9 year old 15.1 hand Arabian. He was used as a stud horse, but didn't throw any black. (He's actually a true black, but the reflection in the photo makes him seem like a black bay). He's been a gelding for a couple years now. He is so quiet and sweet. He was intended as my daughter's horse but he has some very complicated dressage training and we're still working out his buttons. (like going from a Ford truck to a Porche)- And I LUVRE my Ford truck! Felix is the black Arabian "stallion" I have wanted since I was 5 years old- therefore, he is mine! Nick is a 15 year old (?) foundation bred Quarter horse. I'd have to look at his papers to remember if that's his correct age. He might be 14. He's built like a tank and is almost bombproof. Nearly everybody that has been to my house has ridden him- Even first timers! He's like a puppy that literally will follow you around and hang his head on your shoulder while you fix fences. We did a HUGE burn pile the other week in the pasture and Nick's fur was actually quite warm because he wanted to hang out with his people at the fire. He's the one I just jump on without a bridle to lay on while they eat at night when I really need my quiet time horsey fix. Rusty is Nick's "replacement" as my daughter is intimidated by Nick's size. So I will be selling Nick soon as realistically I can only afford and have the room for 2 horses on 2.5 acres. I fell in love with Rusty because he's a smaller, younger version of Nick. So, that's the other horses' stories. I love sharing!!

How tall is Nick? I always though "foundation" were on the smaller size. I love his color!

Now you have to share what bloodlines he has. He's definitely a looker and I bet he's a LOT of fun to ride!

Nick is fun to ride. He'll pack anybody and is great on the trails. He's not tall, about 15.1 or 15.2, but he's really long and has a big build. He's pedigree is here: www.allbreedpedigree.com/twoeyednickelbar
