here is a pic of me riding this year for inspiration.....you gotta love when the size of your own ass rivals your horse's when you are going down the trail....... Ohhhh - thank you for the laugh and BELIEVE me! I was already picking out my biggest oversize shirt to cover as much of me up as possible!

Hey, does anyone have one of those industrial sized coffee makers? (like the big silver ones?). If anyone does, would they mind bringing it?

Just to clarify things a little bit.... The riding component is really only a small portion of the clinic. The morning will consist of discussion about chiro, acupuncture, palpation skills, Q and A, and much more. After the discussion period everyone will take a break and then begin actually having "horse time". Learning stretching exercises, lots of hands on with your horse, Dr Hannah will work with everyone. After lunch there will be another hands on session for a good portion of the afternoon. Then near then end of the day there will be a riding session and then post riding evaluation and stretching. This is obviously a brief overview (not in full detail) of how the day will go - but wanted to give everyone an idea of what to expect. Of course, if anyone has any questions - give me a call and we can chat. (206) 940-8589 This will be a great clinic for everyone - your horses will so happy that you participated! See you all tomorrow! Well, since that has been clarified - I am willing to pay full boat for my two - but can I split that in 2 payments - we are getting hit at the end of this month in a major way. I can pay $200 tomorrow and another $200 next month. Lisa's daughter won't be able to handle 1 of my horses full time so if there is a volunteer or someone without a horse - I will need 1 worked.

Valerie - yes, that is fine! And, don't worry about having a handler. We will have several volunteers available that can handle one of your horses while the other is being worked. Not a problem!

I'm not sure how it works but I was hoping that they could just take my other horse thru the clinic as if they brought the horse...that kind of thing. Do you need bios on Redmond and Chewy? And if so, what are you or Hannah specifically looking for?

Yes, I need bios - you should have gotten an email with the information needed, if not it is posted a couple of pages back on this thread.
The horses will be worked on by Hannah one at a time, although there may be exercises that will be practiced in between. I would assume you would want to be the one working with each of your horses, so you can see where the problem areas are? But if you want a volunteer to help do hands on stuff, I will have a couple of extra pairs of hands that can probably help with that also.

Totally awesome clinic! I just cannot say enough nice things about Dr. Hannah - she gave us great information and is just plain fun to be around! It was so nice to meet everyone and I really hope to see everyone again soon!
Redmond feels pretty good today - he even did a big back leg stretch while I was putting on his fly sheet ( I guess to show me how REALLY far he can stretch). I had not seen him do that before so that was cool. Chewy is very tired this morning and of course after I gave him his miracle clay - he was tired and crabby. So, he gots lots of pets and reassurance - so then he downgraded to sulky.
Thanks to SAFE and Dr. Hannah! It was a great time!!!

I second that, Redmond!!! It was SO nice to meet everyone. What a GREAT group of people, and I look forward to seeing all of you again! Thanks to Dr. Hannah for teaching this wonderful clinic and to Jaime for hosting it at her farm, and for all the SAFE BOD's for all their hardwork to make this clinic happen, and their help during the clinic! It was a lot of fun, and great to meet everyones horses that we hear so much about! ;D I also have to give a special thanks to Juliane and Chelsea who totally went out of their way to come pick up my mare so I could attend. Thanks to everyone-we had a great time, and my mare is thanking me (really Dr. Hannah) today as she feels REALLY good!

First I wanted to say a big thank you to Kelsey (clearlybluebreeze's daughter) for helping out. She hung onto Chewy for most all of the clinic - and considering what a big fidget he is - that was no small chore.
The morning session consisted of each of us introducing our horses, what we knew about their past, their current health issues and what we wanted to do with them.
Then Hannah talked about recommended readings, the different things we would do or talk about or see demonstrated: Stretching (passive and active), acu-pressure points and how to relate or "listen" to your horse as you do each of these activities to help determine where the problem was stemming from.
Then she did some chiropractic work on each horse as well as acu-puncture.
At the end she had most everyone saddle up and ride (she talked about saddle fit etc) and then someone else will have to fill you in on the riding part as I did not participate in that exercise.
IT WAS WONDERFUL!!!!
