Just found this thread. Can we confirm that the TB was picked up and is safe? I sure hope so! I'm so impressed by how you all responded.
I can contribute if any funding is needed for this guy.

This guy is safe at his new home. But he is not what the ad said. He is a wreck, very skinny, swollen leg, covered in mud, feet are absolutely horrible. I will fill you in when I get home tonight. The gal that has him is so thankful she has him and can get him fixed up. She already had calls into her vet and farrier to get him started on healing. She is going to do weekly pics for updates. I am going up to meet him this saturday and bring him a blanket, I just have to do some repairs first. If mine doesnt fit I will be interested in the ones offered. Thanks so much everyone!!

thank you for getting him.
Sometimes my intuition is right and that is why I go on these tangents. I am glad I listened to myself.

Update: Ceasar is his name, I forgot that earlier. He is in fact a big puppy dog, but it just gets worse and worse. Tabatha worked for 2 hours trying to get the caked mud off his body. She finally got his hooves un caked and discovered a huge blown abscess on a front hoof, old and narly. The swollen hind leg started to get better with cold hosing. He is with an amazing woman who, stopped on the way home, filled her truck with feed and a brand new blankie. She is working so hard and said she will have the vet out for blood work, teeth float and all the other goodies. She even offered to take 1 more needing re-hab if we come across one. So keep her in mind for future, horror situations. I plan on saturday being the day I meet this guy and will get pics posted shortly after that. I really want to keep everyone posted but not crowd this blog. Take care! Keep him in your horsey prayers! She really feels its a miracle he is alive. ITS BAD!!!!

Is she keeping him or will he be available as a SAFE-assisted rescue?

Beth, I am so happy your friend took this horse on, especially hearing how bad he really was. I am looking forward to the pictures and very much appreciate the offer to help with a future rehab case. In fact - we do need a place to put either Pie or Isabelle, not immediately, but in the next week or two. Unfortunately though, getting way up north (where I think she is?) will be difficult to do a site visit. If she's really interested, if you would do a site visit on our behalf and email pictures of fencing, shelter, etc. that would be a good place to start.
Also - please let her know if she needs any assistance from us with this boy to contact us. We are pretty booked up right now with our 6 new horses but we can definately help with placement assistance at the very least.

It is going to be very sad to separate these two..........
It will take Jack the Ripper to take one away from the other after all they have been through.

I will be doing site check, ie, fencing, shelter etc. She has 5 acres and a six stall barn and only one other horse. She also has access to another 4 acres and 3 stall barn. I will take pics of that as well. As far as placement, as of right now she plans on keeping him. The point of her helping was to find a forever horse. As far as one of the other TB mares, I will discuss that with her while I am there. Thanks so much!
