Ceasar is way up north just before the boarder in Everson. He is in really good hands, if only we had about 10 more of her.

Well Ceasar is now MAGNUM. I thought that was a good change. Well the vet check went ok to say the least, it was really bad. He is several hundred pounds under weight, his teeth are sooo bad they are coming back next week. He had to be sedated for the farrier today as well, they had never seen anything like it. His two front feet were riddled with infection, massive abscesses and cysts. Lots of rest, bute and hoof treatments. This gal is soooo great, she spent most the night with him and spent all day with him with the vet and farrier. More updates and pics soon! Keep him in your prayers! its going to be a long haul. I will be getting a full vet report and report from the farrier, animal control locally says to document, document. This gal has had him longer than she said, she had documentation that his feet had not been done since May 06.

Poor guy...his poor feet...over a YEAR without foot care, man. I'm thrilled his life is getting turned around in a positive manner. I'm looking forward to seeing pictures of him - especially the "after" pics. Does she need blankets? And BTW, thank you so much for updating, and rallying your friend for this TB.

Yes, I'm looking forward to pics as well. Poor thing. Thoroughbreds really are princesses...people need to learn that you can't just buy one and throw them outside like a mustang or something. Not that any horse should go without proper care, don't get me wrong, but a Thoroughbred will deteriorate much faster under the exact same poor conditions than most breeds. He sounds like he has really crashed in a number of ways.

UPDATE: I met Magnum today. Oh BOY! He is huge, tallest 17h Ive seen. He will be a beauty but he is extremely thin. His feet look good, a trim made all the difference. He is still wearing bandages and is getting them changed often due to the massive amounts of abscessing. They have worked endlessly to get all the mud/manure caked to him off. He has a nice warm blanket and a big stall. We turned him out and he is definitely feeling better, he ran, bucked and played with his friends. Tabatha has 2 other horses, but just one that is saddle trained. Her place is very nice, a big old barn (really neat) with 5 stalls inside. Her fencing is awesome, its 5 ft tall mesh with wood posts, little to no mud, only on the fence line where they run. She is a lucky gal, this boy has a wonderful personality. I have pics and will get those posted, she is sending me additional pics of the before and after grooming. He has a forever home there with lots of love and attention. If anyone is willing to donate to expenses she has over 600.00 so far and is having the vet out again next week to complete his teeth floating. I thought if she is willing to take another it might be nice if people could or would be willing to donate a couple$$ towards all the vet bills. There are 3 TB's now in the same shape that need homes ASAP. She is probably going to take one of those as well. Thanks everyone!

I am struggling with getting photos to show up here? Any ideas?? Upload your photos to photobucket.com It's a free photo sharing site. You'll have to make an account for yourself. It will give you all the codes you need for putting images here. Just cut and paste them here. You'll want the IMG code. Good luck!

He will be a beauty! HE IS HUGE!!! Tabatha plans on taking updated photos weekly and will forward some after a little bit to see his progress. He has a wonderful place and is getting soooo much love and attention. Im sure his recovery will be incredible. If anyone would like to donate to his vet $$$, she has spent 600 so far and has another appt. this week for floating. She is willing to take one more rescue, preferably TB. If you would like to donate, she has paypal, you can PM me and I will forward you her email. Thanks Beth
