Awesome article! There were a few factual errors (I guess PK is actually a "stallion fresh from the track") but it was well-written regardless. Thanks for posting this!

Yeah, and Maggie was my and Chelsea's rescue, not Pony Up's. Also they seem to have given Class a sex change. But hey, it's still a nice, positive article!

SAFE and Dr. Hannah contributed quite a bit to Maggie's rescue as well........she was quite the "it takes a village" girl LOL

I was just wonder if there has been a preliminary fundraising tally from the show yet?
It looks like it was another great event. I was so sorry to have to miss it this year!

I don't think Bonnie's got the final total yet, but it looks like its going to be around $5k, similar to our past events. We didn't have the sponsorships we had at the last show, but we had about twice as many entries so that made up for it!

I'm excited to know the stats of the show when they're ready too...I know there were a LOT of horses there Next year we should bill it as " Washington's Premier Rescue Event" I also think we should lean on the adopters to bring in the former SAFE alum so we/they can show them off! There was so much good energy there! While the sheer number of horses/competition in the rescue classes was a little intimidating, ultimately, you couldn't help but LOVE that these rescue horses were here at all...every step in that ring was a win!!

FYI, for those who now have the show bug, I just found out HARTC is having a rescue benefit show Oct. 3-4 at the Trails in Olympia. Details to come but same stuff as SAFE - no show clothes required. Pleasure Saturday, gaming Sunday. HARTC just did a HUGE seizure this weekend (20+ horses, plus goats, dogs, etc.) so they can use your support if you're itching to get to another rescue friendly show!

Thanks-just cruised around their website and didn't see anything about the show-but they do offer gelding assistance and "end of the trail" assistance for those that can't afford it who reside in Thurston Co. They are also looking for fosters.

That's great Jaime! I was wondering if that might have been the case given the sheer number of folks there!

Can someone tell me what HARTC stands for? My morning brain hasn't cleared yet, and I can't find their site. Thanks!
