I just wanted to say THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to SAFE for putting on such an awesome show. It had a little something for anyone and everyone. I was definitely a little apprehensive having never shown before, but the atmosphere was exactly what everyone promised it would be. I was so proud of Caspian, who took it all in stride (albeit a few "Arab-y" moments). I have to say I was completely flabbergasted when we got 5th place in W/T English Pleasure Rescue. I certainly wasn't expecting that, but it was an awesome moment. This was the PERFECT show for me to start with and I think you all did an amazing job coordinating it. I can't say enough how nice it was for a greenie like me to be able to participate in such a fun event and feel completely comfortable. I will definitely always remember this day! Thanks!!

I hadn't realized that Kheema was also yours! What a great job you've done with all of your horses I'm making a list of fantasy camps I'd like to send Coconut to: Kathleen for Trail Camp & You for Show Camp! Thanks for posting the photo of Sera in the Garland!! I LOVE IT!!! ps: tell those Regional folks to give me a call....I'll class em up Yup. Both are mine. Stella, Kheema's rider was the one who won Res. Champ Show Hack at Regionals this year on Sera. She rides Khramer too. All of my horses have been trained, showed, and finished by me exclusively so it's great to see them go well especially by other riders and even more special when it's a junior rider! We do trail camp too, remember? Sera is a Competitive Trail Ride champ, she's been undefeated at all the ones she's gone on. I trail ride about 25-50 miles per week. It was great to meet Kathleen; I hope the two of us can ride together in the mountains, seems like we like the same thing.

Can't wait to see you back out there next year!

THANK YOU to so many people-some of whom I got to meet personally and chat a moment-others I know worked so hard to make such a welcoming environment even for a complete "Over the hill" total noob and her OTTB. :-) To those of you who tolerated sharing the ring THANK YOU-Hil hadn't done anything like this before-so your patience was appreciated. I was pleased with her as I didn't really know what to expect. LL

Was yours the chestnut mare that I liked, the one where I asked you how long she had been off the track?

I just wanted to add my comment that this was my 1st horse show ever and I had a blast. I also wanted to say that my boyfriend and I were so impressed watching that horse Sera. We loved watching all the horses, but the way this horse moved was so beautiful and obviously well trained, we could barely take our eyes off to watch the others. We both thought it was remarkable how it just appeared the horse and rider had a mental connection going on, making the transitions from walk, trot, canter, etc... seamless. Great job!

That was Miss Hilary 5 y/o injury, recovery, 2 starts (no place) injury in training race Sept 19(bowed tendon) no more race career ahead, October rolled around and she got posted on ABR then cross posted to RO where I saw her-was a "must go NOW" scenario-6 more months off-just started riding her end of April. Niether of us had a clue what we were doing but we had fun. Thanks again everyone :-)

I had the the best experience at the SAFE show. I was SO nervous and ended up having a great time. I was amazed at Rusty and how well he did at his first show (mine as well for the first time in um . . . decades- back when I was in 4H and certainly never won ribbons.) I couldn't be prouder!! Rusty and I definitely have more confidence now. I was really impressed with all of the rescue horses! I could have taken all of them home with me, but of all the SAFE horses, those that really caught my eye were Biscotti & Rhythm. Biscotti was so quiet and has such a huge kind eye. I see much potential in that one! And Rhythm- What a looker that one! I know he was giving Jamie a bit of a challenge, but something about him. He's so elegant and graceful. Somebody experienced with hot breed horses will love him to pieces. As a teenager, he would have been my dream horse. Heck, if I had a slighter build to match his, he would be my dream horse now! Here is a picture of Rusty and I. We had just got home and in the driveway when my husband whipped out the camera. If you notice, Rusty is still wearing one shipping boot! (Not sure what I'm doing wrong with the picture code?) <img src="http://twitpic.com/f2ljz"> twitpic.com/f2ljz

It was great to see everyone! I have tons of photos that Mike took and it is going to take me days to upload them all! I will start by posting some of the SAFE horses' photos in their individual threads so they don't get lost, so look for those first!

Awww, thank you! She's really my pride and joy, though I was thrilled with how Kheema, my other horse, looked (dark Arab mare with a Morgan-ish look ridden by a junior rider). Believe it or not, Sera was slated for the feedlot auction when I got her for free about five years ago. What a waste that would have been!
