Quick little update:
I finally got the papers from AHA. He is officially mine in every way possible. And there's no Elledge on the papers! Hurray!
He's broke to ride walk/trot/canter. He's also a little on the hefty side since it was cold and I like to feed so he's now on a little diet. (No more all-you-can eat Eastern Wa hay). As a matter of fact, he's going so well under saddle he may not only be shown by me at the Arab shows and locally, but by a 15 yr old junior rider who's riding him right now. He's that nice to ride right now. Plus, I plan to teach him to drive, just like Sera. You got to keep these guys thinking.....

He looks great, and so steady with all the other horses around! Hope to see him at the SAFE show

Thank you. He just needs to learn not to stick his chin to his chest, I'd like him to stay on the vertical, not behind it:-) He discovered that's a good way to cheat and not use his neck. He's very steady though.

My young stallion likes to stick his nose OUT at the trot. If we could combine them, we'd have it just right!

So after I took off to Europe and the Middle East for 4 weeks, I decided that it would be a good idea to take my wild, wild, wild five year old stallion who knew about nothing except how to cover mares a year ago on a little trail ride. 5 hours, 25 miles, and about 2000 feet later..... (Oh yeah, we went SOLO!!!!) Yes, we did hit snow: Somewhere down there is our trailer.... Wild and rank? Not the Khramer:-) Happy to be back (he did have his ears up most of the time, he was just shy about photos today, I guess) This guy rocks. We trotted, cantered, and climbed. The only thing he isn't keen on is puddles, but the river wasn't a problem. Neither was passing other horses or the million and one possible boogies on the way.

I'm looking at these photos and thinking "wow, this area and horse looks very familiar ..." and then I see the photo with the blue tail wrap.
I was out on the same trails yesterday with my dog, Tanka - I live 5 minutes away from the area and hike there daily. We passed Khramer twice on some fairly narrow side trails and he was quite calm despite some sticking out branches and a very curious dog (he thinks horses are very big dogs) who was quivering in his sit/stay and wanted to play.
It was a gorgeous day out there yesterday - love the photos!

It's a small world after all, it's a small world after all, it's a small world after all, its a small, small world! Ha ha....
Yeah, he's still out on whether he likes dogs or not. Right now he thinks they are toys, so I didn't want to chance a smooshed canine:-)
