On Saturday CG and I spent some time w/Lark, who has put on even more weight since last weekend. We gave her a dock/tail bath (well, CG did that , I merely held her), and we discovered that she probably has never been clipped (w/o sedation, at least) when we tried to trim her face a bit. She was , so we opted to trim a bit with scissors. She was GREAT with the tail/dock bath, no problems at all.

She's moving this weekend into a foster-to-adopt situation in Battle Ground, WA if all goes well.

She will be with two other horses, a mare and a gelding. Nice barn, roomy matted stalls, acreage. Cardicorgi and certifiedgirl have been there, so they could tell you more. Sounds like a nice place though!

whinnie to all ......
lark is coming to my house tomoro...my kids, horses and dogs, are eagerly awaiting her arrival. i had put a app. in for redmond and low and behold the man ( red man ) got 2 requests at the same time...so my kids and i decided that since red had an alternate place to eat and lark didnt, she needed to come stay w/ us. us being, buckwheat, 23yr old retired ( adopted ) qh mare. and my brat gelding, slyder, a 7 yr old ( teenager attitude ) gelding, also a qh. buck was here wen i bought my place 2 yrs ago, the previous owner had made to alternate plans for her, so here she has stayed and remained queen of our roost. she teases and tolerates sly. ( sly, actually being, round'n third, head'n home...)... we have 4 fenced/ x fenced acres, divided into 3 sections..lots os big trees to sleep under and listen to the frogs in the pond...the barn is a 3 staller; stalls around 12 x 12 but no smaller than 10 x 10...they each have and in/out small paddock adjoining the stall. i have been waiting all week to finally put the shavings in the stall for lark..i didnt want to put them in too early, like last week, before i heard if she would be able to come spend some time w/ us...silly me...she will b inbetween the two others so wont b lonely. i put them out in the day, stall them at nite. clean inside once a day / am, and once outside the barn once a nite. ive been luckly so far this winter, the drainage has been good, except , of course, where the gates/doors are...but not any where near a ft or 2 deep, so lark shud hav a good time. some choice , well used rolling spots also.... i think she will continue to prosper, fill out, and stand and smile like buckwheat does....
ive just recently joind this fine goup/ clan, of caring folks. im proud to b able to assist...its also going to make me actually learn how to work my digital camera. im a picture freak, as long as they are not of me, hahahaha, so b prepared to continue being included in larks journey, cuz its not over by any means....
thank you all for letting me ramble and updates abound !!!!!!!!!

Larkspur went to her new foster home today, she settled right in and took a roll in the deep fluffy shavings that Bucknsly had fixed up for her. She seemed really happy and content and I can see that her and her new family are going to get along wonderfully. Thank you again for taking this sweet mare in, Bucknsly; I know that she will soon look as good as your other two horses do! Enjoy her, she is a really special mare.

Sweet Lark looks so content. So, any news on if this will be her last stop?
