The horses played musical paddocks yesturday. Actually Lark & mucho mas gordita, buck, were in one section together and Ish in another, and Mortphie in his area. All got fed, in the evening, or so I thot, but of course Buck didnt have enuf. I checked abt an hour later and Buck had pushed open the large slidding door into the barn, ( I had it locked from one side, so she nosed it ajar enuf to slide it the other way to get her fat butt thru ) .. Then Lark from leaning over the electric tape ( which wasnt on because its still hooked up in Mortph's area ) snapped it apart. As Im out in the dark trying to replace the broken tape w/ new, Lark is still leaning over the top tape...I shoo her off, she leaves, comes back, leans, I shoo , she leaves etc...... Well, as you can guess , she got a real HUGE electric charge, when I put the fence back on active....Ive seen her float on air, but never glowing at the same time.... She is fine, and hopefully when I get home today, the fence will still be there....

hahahahaha serves her right.
Tostada has figured out the one portion of my fence that is not hot, and leans on it all the time trying to reach the 3 blades of grass she has missed on the other side. Grrrr.

Thanks Jaime.... and Jen for posting the pics.. Lark is learning better housekeeping manners. So far her stall hasnt been as grungie as it was last fall/winter. Although she hasnt forgotten her worst habit. I had put her in Bucks stall with the outside run, and locked the screaming constantly in heat meanie Buckwheat, in Larks stall. The water buckets are high up in Larks stall and mid level in Bucks stall...So Lark, took the opportunity to poop in Bucks water bucket Maybe she was telling Buck to behave or this would happen again if she didnt play nice. So far, shes the only one who is wearing a raincoat, being as thin skinned as she is... Yesturday, somehow Lark pulled down the electric fence for abt 30 feet. After I got it restrung, I looked back and she was leaning on it again... Had to turn the fence back on to make her keep off of it....

Had a nice visit with Lark (and Ish and Peggy!) on Sunday - it was really great to see this mare again, she is one of my favorites. She is so dainty, it cracks me up to watch her eat her alfalfa. Here are a couple of pictures: Love her expression here!

I got to meet Lark this weekend, and I fell in love with her. Just don't tell any of Peggy's other kids. I was trying not to get a favorite! She was a little muddy in the pictures I took (though I did take pictures of the clean side!), and Peggy and I gave her a bath after I took this. For some reason, it didn't occur to me to take pictures of the clean version of Lark. Oops! Could have had something to do with the tantrums we started having after the bath! Grooming Mort's mane

Yeah, I feel bad though. I got home and realized I somehow never took any pictures of Buck and her Lucy hair. I was disappointed! Guess that's what I get for getting too distracted to remember I have a camera in my pocket
