Im finding out later today if the horse is moving or not (I have a feeling he is). If so, I could probably get her here by the weekend!

Aww HC, I hope it works out - it will be so nice to be close to her! Also, I'm really glad you came to the clinic so we could all meet you in person - that was swell! I was so glad to meet everyone too! It was awesome ;D!

I got to see my girl today!! And my gosh, we made P-R-O-G-R-E-S-S!!!!
It took a while to catch her, as usual, but I tried to do it the way they did at the clinic and she "told" me when she was ready to be caught. When she was done with her funny busniess she stopped, looked at me and stood patiently for me to halter her. I lead her around in the pasture a little while, and did some backing up. Like fast backing up---and she snorted, it was pretty cute. I found out she does the "Ace Rountine". She wants to look at me with only one eye or the other. She gets unfocused pretty easily. So everynow and then I would jump and she would snort and look at me with BOTH eyes and then lick and chew.
Then I took her out of the pasture and to the barn, that has an indoor track in it. I walked her around and she was very uptight, so I kept her occupied, hauch turns, left and right, walking, backing, etc, etc. She calmed down quite a bit. One moment was really adorable. I was walking her and then stopped and asked her to back up. She took a half step and then lifted up her foot in the air and pawed like a dog, it was the cutest thing!!! She really wanted to do go forward.
And then...Guess what??!! I took out a little english saddle pad and tried to desensitize it to her. No problem there! She was fine. I even put it on her head and over her ears, no problem. Then I got a heavy bareback pad and put it on her, no problem there either. Even put the girth on.
So we did that for quite a while, keeping her busy doing different things, keeping Lady on her toes and she did great. She even let me look at her teeth. At the end she had one minor explosion moment. It was one of those "what the heck was that for" kind. I thought it might be because the lead rope touched her so I did some desensitizing with her until she was calm. Then I took her back to the pasture and walked her around and petted her and told her what a good girl she was. I took her halter off and petted her until she slowly ambled off. But overall she did awesome and made terrific progress. I took pics, but am having problems with the computer so will get them on ASAP.

She looks like she is doing very well. She was not at all bothered about the pad being up by her head - she was just sitting there, resting a hind foot, totally relaxed, like "whatever, Mom."

Ya she disapointed me, I thought she might have an explosion. Guess I was wrong . You should have seen her face, she looked at me like "is this supposed to make me upset?, well Im not so give me some cookies and leave me alone". Ah, the Queen Lady has spoken . I noticed today she is coming out of her shell, she is starting to get a 'tude ;D. Reminds me of good ol' Koda Boy.

Way to go PL and HC... Keep us posted on your progress with her. I didn't notice - do you have a long lead? Did you see the parts where Rick/Dorothy put the rope around a front foot (pastern area) and taught the horses to not only give to pressure, but to lead them that way? I think there are pictures in the "clinic report" thread, if you didn't see it. So interesting, and it does make a difference, too - a horse that has been through that kind of training won't be reactive if it steps on its lead.
