Here is Sampson, clacking at Tara, before she pinned her ears and he took off to attack his ball:

Isn't it about time for that handsome boy to get his own thread?

I'll create a new thread for him as soon as he is weaned, which will probably be around mid-August. Hard to see in the photo, but he is so gray now! He has a beautiful head and a sweet, albeit mischevious personality. He got his third trim a few days ago and he did much better than he has previously...he is fine with having his feet picked up but doesn't like to hold them there very long.

Sampson was weaned today and Delilah has gone out on a foster-to-adopt situation! If all goes well, she will be adopted by one of our former foster homes. The weaning was completely uneventful, and Delilah I think is relieved to be free of Sampson (affectionately known as The Leech).

Unfortunately, Delilah got into it with the other dominant mare in her foster-to-adopt situation and Delilah did a bit of damage to the other horse. The other horse will be ok, but as Delilah clearly isn't going to work out in her herd long-term, Delilah is once again being made available for adoption. She will continue to be fostered at her current location in Sultan. During the time she has been there she has already done quite a bit of groundwork with Delillah in the roundpen and has generously offered to continue her training and start her under saddle. Here's a recent photo of Delilah. She looks great! Her adoption fee is $500.

To bad for Delilah. When you have more than one bossy mare it is better to keep them in seperate areas. Actually, to keep vet bills down, horses should never be kept together. LOL!

Since Delilah's adoption did not work out, today Delilah went up to start training with our trainer. I think she's going to be a super nice horse, just need to be mindful of her alpha status and her size with other horses. She loaded and hauled perfectly...can't wait to hear the reports of how she does under saddle!

My daughter works for the trainer that will be working with Delilah. I'm excited to meet her. I have a soft spot for drafts of all sorts but Percherons and Belgians in particular. Good thing we're totally full up on horses or I would have been tempted to adopt her.

How exciting! I'll be up at Half Trak Saturday morning for a lesson so I'll be sure to bring my camera and snap some photos. She is going to be amazing, I think.

Delilah has finished up 60 days (but still in training, doing great!) and is now available for adoption. Her adoption fee is $1000.
