Wow, I had to take a second look! That doesn't even look like the same horse.
I noticed you measured Lexi, but I didn't see a current measurement for Rhythm. Did you happen to get a chance to stick him?

Rhythm's training is coming along very well. He is now cantering under saddle. He is no longer head shy at all. He is still a little bit spooky under saddle, not quite as confident as Lexi, but that is probably due mainly because of his age. The plan is to get him out on the trails soon!

Rhythm is doing great according to the trainer. He's cantering under saddle both directions and knows his leads, and going fairly consistently on the bit. Tomorrow he has his first trail ride! He'll be ponied the first time and once he gets the idea he will go out with a rider. He's growing again and is butt-high right now.

Lexi didn't get to go on the trail ride last week because she lost a shoe, but Rhythm did, and he was AWESOME! Even though he's a little more insecure than Lexi no doubt due to his age, on the trail he was a superstar. The other horses in the pasture came galloping up to the fence as they were leaving, and he was fine with that. He handled cars and other horses going by, dogs, and walked through water. What a good boy!!
Saturday Alison and I are heading up to pick him and Lexi up, and before we go, will be taking them both out on a trail ride.

I got the distinct pleasure of riding Rhythm today! He has improved SO much since we last saw him, and such a fun ride! We went out on the trails and he was a little nervous walking down to the trails (the horses in the pasture were gallopping alongside and the neighbors goats were very scary, he had his tail flagged and neck arched but was still very controllable), but once we got down to the trails he was a superstar! He relaxed and spent much of the time on the buckle and really didn't spook at anything on the trail. He is still very green and very much a baby (he really doesn't like standing still for a long time) but he's so sweet and such a good boy! Here's a few photos of Andrea riding him before our trail ride, video to come:

I rode Rhythm today at my farm and he was great! I lunged him first as I wasn't sure how he would do and he was pretty much a spaz on the lungeline (although, he tries REALLY hard to be a good boy!). But once I got on him he was really good, looked at things but didn't spook, even when Mike went and started hammering on fences. I just had to redirect his attention back on our work and he was great. Such a sweet boy!

Does this mean Schwung has found herself a mount for the show? ;D
