What a great venue Donida is! Are you guys thinking two day show or one day? It would be so much fun to have some dressage tests included, what about the gaming portion? Guess we need to start a class list thread

Just a one-day show I think, and we are going to have to really step up on the sponsorships this year because this venue is quite a bit more pricey than what we are used to paying. We will still have gaming (perhaps more gaming or gaming running concurrently with the regular show) and definitely dressage, still need a judge and to confirm we have jumps if we are going to do any h/j classes. We will have the same judge as last year (Leslie Kirkpatrick) for the main show and Andrea Lucianna that trains the SAFE horses will be the dressage judge! This is going to be a lot of fun and a great show!

Does SAFE have a facebook page? Might be fun to do for the show at least. I am a fb addict. My only concern is that this is the same day as C-fair Classic in Monroe. If not I will see if some of my friesian friends can come down and have fun. Also - I will post the show on a WA horse meetup group I am on.

At the show last weekend the Ring stewards and some key volunteers had those small handheld walkie-talkies & that was very useful.
I think Mr. Coconut and I have 3 of those motorola yellow/black ones. If anyone else has any, perhaps we could use them at the show. Donida's a big place and it could take LOTS of leg work/time to get info back and forth.

On our visit to Donida in planning mode, it became very clear that we need as many pop-up tents as we can get for show day. Some will be needed for our SAFE/Volunteer Hospitality Booth, the Raffle Booth, probably a couple of show coordination locations near the arenas and possibly along the top of the grassy area between the arenas for shade.
Please let us know if you can bring one. They can be dropped Friday afternoon or early Saturday morning but should be put up before horses start coming through for classes & warm up.
I would also suggest that spectators bring their own seating. The grassy area in between the arenas gives a great view of both sides.

I can bring one... I think it is an 8x8. I'll bring it with me when I bring Lexi down Friday night.

I know there was talk of having a tack sale booth, but given that we have few people committed to volunteering, are we open to nixing that in the interest of filling the more critical positions? At first glance we still need an announcer, parking crew, stabling manager and more show office staff. I'm getting a little worried.

As the tack is currently at my house and out at the Rusty Bar Ranch...there is no hurry to make this decision other than letting folks know that it won't be happening for purchasing items. It can be a bit last minute is all I'm saying.
