Original description provided by CBER while mare was at feedlot:
BASSET - This timid bay mare would not let us approach her but in a few days she will figure out that we are the good guys. She is sound and well built.
Updated Description:
9-10 year old Appy-cross mare. Sound, nice mover with pretty trot. Has had all shots, wormed. Has probably had very little farrier care and needs work handling her feet although her feet themselves are not in bad shape. She has spent 30 days in training in October as we were not sure she was halter broke. She is halter broke and the trainer was able to get far enough to put a saddle on her but we do not believe she is broke or has received much handling. She is a dominant mare and will require an experienced adopter but has potential to be a great project.
Update July 2006:
Basset has been in professional training since April. She is going well under saddle, has been ridden out on the trails and her personality has completely changed, she is now a loving and affectionate mare. Basset will continue her training until mid-August when she will be available for adoption.
Update September 2006:
Basset has been adopted!
Update February 2007:
Due to a non-horse related but severe back injury rendering Basset's owner unable to ride again, Basset is once again available for adoption. She has not done much since being adopted last fall so needs a bit of a retuning. She is currently located in Tensed, Id.

Updated picture August 2006:
Currently located in Tensed, ID
