Those of you following the Elledge horses... I'm proud to say that I adopted Wajiih El Nefous, the 5 yr old bay stud this last week and he's doing well in his new FOREVER home. I'm getting him started under saddle (just rode him the first time today.) As a matter of fact, if it hadn't been for the "no studly" rule at the benefit, he would be coming this weekend as I want him to have exposure as I plan to show him "a" circuit next year. But I will be there showing my other horse instead. See pictures of the happy boy: pictures.aol.com/ap/myAlbums.do?includeReceivedAlbums=true&albumId=26717.1795.1219207826619.3

Wow, congratulations! I can't see the pics but maybe you can link them? You can use the IMG tag on these boards. I would absolutely love to see one of those horses go on to glory at the A shows after the hell they have been through...might change some minds about rescue horses in general, too. There are still those who think a rescue can't be a really high quality horse, or that a rescue won't have potential for that level of showing.

Congratulations. Did you get his registration papers when you adopted him? If you want, I can copy a picture of him over here to the thread. He is sure a nice looking boy. Did you get him through the county or a rescue?

The link requires me to sign into aol, which I don't have! Do you have a photobucket or something similar account you could post from?

That's great news! I had heard he was placed but didn't know where. How is his bowed tendon? He sure looks a heck of a lot better than those photos I've seen of him!
Guys - this is Arial (Lot 1a) and Dory's (Lot 3) sire as well as Ella's (RIP) sire.

Trllium- If you want to post the photos here that would be great. He is DNA typed, so I should be able to get his papers.
Whoever asked about his tendon; he's healed up just fine. Mark did a really good job rehabing him. He'll look really nice after I've had him for some time and have a chance to condition him. Poor dude has no muscle mass on him at all.

I have never had problems keeping old bows sound (and for hard work like polo). If you want to make it prettier for the show ring, I have had good luck with alternating laser and ultrasound - you will wind up with a leg that looks like nothing ever happened to it. He may even halter after that. He is beautiful. I'm very happy for him. You got a deal!

I don't know how "bowed" it really was. You can't even tell what leg it was on and it certainly doesn't bother him. He is certainly halter quality, but won't be competitive "a" since he's missing part of an ear. Even if he was though, I wouldn't show him since in order to be competitive you pretty much need to abuse your horse (I don't care what either people say, 7 yrs of watching this is my opinion). I may show him sporthorse in-hand though since his conformation is good and he's built well for hunter. We'll see. I ride and show show hack, driving, western, hunter and country. He can do whatever he likes the most.... I'll be happy either way.

When he's ready to be, he will be gelded. Since he was so undernourished it's to his benefit to keep his equipment right now; it will help him put on muscle in bulk. I actually had an appointment to get him fixed this week anyway but ended up postponing since he was so easy to handle (even around mares) and I'm set up for keeping stallions as well as experienced in handing them. I've only had him since last Friday so we are taking things day by day and I'm making decisions based on his well being above anything or anyone else's.

I have not seen the PM. I don't usually do these lists so I don't even know what one is. I just wanted to let people know one of these poor guys found himself a good home. But if you don't mind enlightening me, I'd appreciate it:-)

You can get your PMs at the top of the screen where it says Save A Forgotten Eqine next to that is a spot that will say-Hey, Fanaberia, you have 1 message, 1 is new. Click on the 1 message. It should be in blue. Here are some pictures of Wajiih He looks like he is in pretty good shape here. Everyone loves a good scratch. That feels soooo goooood. ;D
