Wildfire is a 6 month old filly. Her dam is Brandy, a pony mare, and her sire is reportedly a mustang. She is already at 6 months almost as tall as her mother so will probably be small horse/large pony sized when full grown. She is currently black with a blaze and two blue eyes, but she is going to be grey. This filly, along with her dam and Silvida, were purchased by the Elma community and donated to our wonderful foster home in Elma. These three horses were reportedly being starved and the community raised money and purchased all 3 horses from the owner for $500. SAFE has stepped up to help find these three horses a permanent home. They have been in their new foster home for about 3 weeks now. Wildfire does show some effects from starvation, she is slightly underweight, but as she is still nursing from her dam appears in good shape. Her feet need to be addressed soon. She received her first set of shots on Saturday. She is halter broke but relatively unhandled. She will be weaned shortly. Adoption Fee: $300 Contact Jaime at jaime@safehorses.org if you are interested in adopting Wildfire.

Baby got weaned as of yesterday and is seeking comfort from Silvida. She is about 11 hands already. She is halter broke and also loads/trailers easily.

How much should she mature to? Would make a great project for someone.

Unfortunately we can't really estimate because we don't know how tall her sire was. It's clear she'll be bigger than her mother, but probably still pony-sized.

She has a cute little white mark on her right foot. She's just so cute. I am glued to this filly! I hope she gets a good home soon (I think she will turn out Grulla)

Pretty sure she's not going to be grulla bs - she has white hairs already mixed in with the black throughout her coat. We did toy with the idea of roan but the vet felt pretty confident she's going to turn gray.

Baby sounds like a very good prospect for almost anyone. If I had more time I would love to take her, but currently I am just to busy to be able to train a youngster!

I'm looking for a prospect myself. I currently do not own one and I'm on the lookout!
HK: I went to your website. Very nice! You did a great job on it.

I dont have any horses right now either, and would love a project. At the stable where I used to board I work with this little colt and he is so much fun, I would love to have my own yearling to work with. Baby is a little too small to my liking though, but she is a cutie! Babies are so much fun to help train and they bond to you when you are the one that trains them.
