Yeah, I was hoping he would grow a few hands while he stayed with me, so I could keep him, but he is going to be a perfect kids pony.

Mara, he looks fantastic! He really bulked up since last I saw him. Nice, nice pony!
Maybe we should train him as a hunter and sell him for $50,000? That'd let us save a few more horses!

Thanks, Jaybird! ;D I like your idea, sounds like a plan to me. So, we just need to find that perfect little rider. I'll start putting the word out..

If you would like, once you get him going under saddle I will contact the person who adopted Connor. She is an upper level event rider who trains kids. She takes ponies and puts miles on them and places them with her students. Excellent facilites and great care in placing the right horse with the right rider. Sometimes(like in the case of Connor) she takes ponies and only leases them to students because she likes them too much to re-home.

Winterslake farm - thank you, that's a wonderful offer! We would certainly need to be involved in his placement and have the adopter sign a contract so I am how that would work out, but maybe we could come up with something.
I'm moving Trey's discussion thread over to the Training forum, but to be clear we are still accepting applications on him while he is in training!
I just got off the phone with Monica's, Trey's trainer. SHE LOVES HIM!!! Apparantly, he has already developed quite a fan club and numerous kids interested in adopting him. There is a hunter trainer there also that looked at him and was very interested in him as well. After he gets going under saddle they are going to see how he does over fences.
His training is coming along GREAT! She said he is very smart and she should have him under saddle by early next week. She has been doing groundwork and sacking him out so far. He was great with everything when on a line but when he was loose in the round pen, was a little untrusting and hard to catch again. Two round pen sessions though and he was joining up easily.
Monica seems to think we will be fighting off potential adopters and he will easily find a home as a pampered show horse, what with his cuteness, nice movement and all his chrome!

I had a chance to see Trey this past Sunday; he really is adorable and super friendly, my kids loved him. I had a couple girls ask about his adoption fee, will it remain $400 (a steal for this guy) or is the price of training added on to his fee? He is a going to make someone very happy!!

Hey Molly...his adoption fee is currently TBD, and will depend on how many months of training we put into him. We actually haven't even discussed it yet, but we probably should if there is interest in him!
