Cute, I like it. All caps on the "Safe" part would be too much maybe? Your idea leads me to something like "Forgotten Legend" but sounds a little sad.

I don't necessarily think all caps would be over the top. But, either way, I think it's a nice honor.

Hey! I was just thinking about you all! That is great news that you may get papers on these girls. Better news that Emma gets to go to school! I would like to get papers on Holly or wonder if she has papers somewhere. I'll have to think about the name. I do like SAFE at Sea. Or maybe Seize the Moment. I am not very good at this.

I'm kinda likin' " Emma's Flight of Fancy." I've been trying to mix "Safe" in it somewhere but sounds contrived. Going with the definition for Flight of fancy meaning "fantastic notion" rather than "impossible dream" . (Maybe the second is more correct) But with Emma's spirit in the clouds all the time it seems a fitting name. "Flight" is coming from her dam; Shell Game's side: " Flight Time" was "C Skywatch's" sire. "Fancy" is from sire "Seas the Golden Day's" dam: Denmarks Fancy Gold.

I think anything with "flight" or "skies" is a good pick for you! ;D They're both beautiful girls and deserve elegant, meaningful names but I just have to throw a little comedy in there... Have a Safe Flight Emma but I also like anything ocean themed so I was also thinking something like... Collecting Sea Shells or Emma collects Sea Shells

I would like to get papers on Holly or wonder if she has papers somewhere. I'll have to think about the name. Hi Merle, Looking thru the thread history here: Sire: Chico's Last Sundance ( I didnt find if he is registered, there seemed to be a question about that) Dam: Moonlight Melody (registered appy) Perhaps the Appaloosa registry folks would be kind enough to allow you to register her thru the same process the Saddlebreds are being registered thru, ie getting the legal documentation demonstrating the horse was seized from Jean and then going thru the registration application. Probably also depends if you can find from Cowgirly23 if Chico is registered, or go thru the appy registry and see if you can find him there. Ususally you have to be a member of the association to look thru their registry and for sure you will have to be a member to get here registered. I hope that helps as a place to start. How about: Holly's Moondance Holly and Snow Safes Holly and Snow Safes Moondance and Holly Just brainstorming to give ideas. Good luck.

Thanks for the tips. At one point I asked a friend to check the names with the Appy reg. but she didn't find anything at that time. I just sorta dropped the ball at that point. Dancing in the Moonlight was a name I came up with. An other one for Emma is... I EMMA PRINCESS

author=coconut Have a Safe Flight Emma I already have a TB named "Striker"... which always gives the farriers pause.... ;D I guess "Have a Safe Flight Emma" is running a tight race with "Comes with a Seatbelt and Neckbrace Emma." ;D ;D I totally get your drift. She has the proper lineage for sure: Wing Commander, Flight Time, and Sky Watch. I swear I had no idea she had so much aviation in her background when I picked her. ;D

Still working on getting the details together for sending in Emma's registration paperwork. Unsure if we will get enough info to actually get them approved. We're pretty sure the name Emma's Flight of Fancy is our number 1 choice. Emma's a little dirty so not so photogenic today but she is growing. I taped her at still 15.3 hh but up to 920lbs. Big baby girl.

msswan, The ApHC used to allow hardship registration, allowing for the registration of horses based upon color alone. You might want to check into that. I would think since you know the sire and dam, it would be an easy thing to get her registered!! Good luck!

Got another couple good name ideas for Emma. "Her Emmanence" was cute but that led to "Preemmanence" which I like. I know the spelling is modified to fit her just slightly. I asked Emma and she says Webster is spelling it wrong.

Hi Merle, I replied to your post a while back but it was on some other computer somewhere else and apparently didnt stick. Anyway, Emma goes to training Mar 27th so she is enjoying her last couple weeks of grass nibbling in blissfull pony-hood before she gets schooled on the responsibilities of a grown-up girl. She is still filling out and looking more adult all the time. I'm sure she will excell in school since she had some exposure to it last year. Our trainer is gentle and only about 100 lbs so she'll be gentle on Emma's young joints. We'll keep you posted and add pictures during her progress.
