Mara- Those are the cutest pics EVER!!! I especially love the one of your husband and Micah planning pre-class strategy...
I know I have said it before but I cannot imagine a better place for JR.

I forgot to include this picture that cracked me up...JR saying, been there, done that...let's get this show on the road... We definitely plan on being at the SAFE show in August. That sounds like a good idea to do the leadline trail class. Micah will love that!

Took the ol' boy out last night as Micah needed to have some time with his horsie...not that he rides very often, but when he does ride, he's getting really comfortable jogging on JR, and the entire time giggling his pants off. After our few strides of jogging, we took a moment to love on JR for being such a good boy, which was the sweetest thing as JR practically fell asleep in my chest. The best moment of all was when Micah was trying to give him kisses on his neck, and couldn't quite reach as his helmet lid kept getting in the way. Finally, he was able to negotiate a kiss on JR, and afterwards petting him, telling him he was a good boy, and then saying, "Mom, I love JR, he is the bestest horse I ever saw". Gotta love 3 year olds... ;D

It's been a while since I've posted pictures of JR. He's doing great this winter. Not sure what the change is, but I am so pleased with how it seems as if his body realizes that he's not going to miss a meal ever again and absorb all the nutrition given to him. He gets what I call the diet for the stars-which he is, plus his vits/probiotic/joint supps to keep him comfy. He's getting around pretty well considering his eye sight isn't the best and his back is so swayed, but when he wants to, he can pick it up and go!!! My son, Micah who's almost 4 years old is more and more interested these days in brushing and riding his horse. Ask's more frequently and always tells JR that he is so happy to see him and that he's the best horse ever...momma would be so happy if he gets the horsey bug, too. Here are some pics of him from yesterday getting doted on by his boy Micah and my girlfriends kids. Wish this one would rotate like it does on photobucket... Standing patiently waiting for his next treat.

He and Sarge are practically a matched set except for one has spots. I think you are right, he realizes he's never going to miss a meal again. He looks fabulous!
