Horses like JR and schwung's Vanna are worth their weight in gold! The sweet babysitter personality is so perfect for the little ones. Best of luck with JR's upcoming show season, we fully expect him to participate in the SAFE Show!!!

Mara! He looks BEAUTIFUL!!! All round and relaxed and so happy!! He does seem to have a special touch with the little ones and gives them so much confidence- not to mention that his sway back sucks them right in....
Kiss his nose for me!

Today was the day that JR and my son Micah ventured out to their first horse show together. It was quite the day, and I was so proud of both my boys! They were such stars!!! ;D I hauled to Black Raven stables in Arlington (Jaime, said hi to your oh, so sweet, Tessa girl ) where they have benefit shows for People Helping Horses. It was really neat, as during the leadline class, (and JR and Micah being the only leadline horse/rider), they were able to do a spotlight on him as being a rescue horse. The lady was talking and I was trying really hard to not cry, but what she was saying was so sweet and made my eyes water... Here are a few pics to share from the day. JR being a good boy waiting patiently for what was to come next. Dressed and ready to impress! My little 3 y/o is such the little cowboy. Daddy helping Micah and making sure he is nice and clean. Love this picture! We had such a good time, and it was great to do something with the horses as a family. I think JR really enjoyed going and doing something different, too...he such a ham for the camera.

It was great fun! Look forward to doing it again. They have series at BitsNSpurs, and if you join, they have year end awards, and I guess if you enter your kid into 3 of the leadline classes, at the end of the year, you go to the banquet, and all the kids that did the leadline classes in 3 seperate shows win awards...I didn't even know they did that for leadline...I just have so much fun, and as long as Micah and JR are happy and having fun then hubby and I will keep taking them. Yes, she did the, ooh, who are you, ears nice forward and sweet, and THEN, oh, your not worth my time, ears pinned back routine...it was so sweet of her. At least she started with her ears forward first.

Oh my, that is adorable. I will have to email the link to the thread to little Bella (who is, as I understand, enrolled in a one-week horse care class for little ones this summer - and she will get to ride a pony - who knew a four-year-old could do this???)
;D

JR looks so good! You have to promise to bring them to the SAFE show and go through all the lead line classes (making sure to make a run through my trail course too! I bet JR would be an old pro at a trails course)
