mymercedes, Apollo is doing great! I will update his thread so I don't clog this one.
I've been looking forward to riding Whiskey in the high country this summer. However, I would be shocked if she isn't adopted soon and someone else will have the privilege. She is just a cool horse. She is so fit right now that her new owner will be able to just get on and go for all the fun spring, summer, and fall riding to come.

I love the Whiskey pictures and updates. You know, you could do a thriving business trail-breaking horses for all the "arena girls" like me who don't want to go trail riding unless they know the horse is already bomb proof out there!

You know, I have to agree with Cat....it's hard for us arena riders to break out of our fences and go hit the trail. I have an amazing trail horse.....I just fear being stuck with other riders doing things my horse doesn't want to (or shouldn't) do, and then what??? I admire Kathleens obvious fearlessness! I also admire that she has a baby at home and still gets her horse time in!

It is kind of like boot camp at first! Then it turns into summer camp and lots of fun when the horse gets up to speed. I have thought of actually training trail horses for $$. I am confident in my ability in that respect. I think I would only be able to take one at a time tho as it takes a lot of time to get all the trail exposure in. And I think one of the main problems with "trainers" out there is to make a living in the horse business you have to have a lot of horses in training. Then there is just not enough hours in the day to put the time on each horse it needs.
Cat, if you ever want to feel safe on a trail you can come ride Fancy. She is perfect. And she is only 14 hands so less intimidating. I think my little reservation filly is worth her weight in gold...

I can second riding a very safe little fancy- she's fun and adorable (and safe).
Kathleen- you are doing Whiskey such a *great* sevice by all the wonderful exposure you are giving her. Whoever gets this mare will be very lucky indeed.

Is that the old Foxridge? It looks like it! Beautiful photos! Has to be... I know the place like the back of my hand. What a fun project that would be to whip back into shape. The FEI arenas aren't in bad shape. Quite fixable.

Yep, its Foxridge. Duane Hebert has been training out of there for the last couple years. Its an cool place. I try to haul in a couple times a month. They have cow sortings all summer starting at the end of May. I'm trying to get Whiskey ready if she isn't adopted by then. If she is I have Fancy going in that direction as well. Here is their web site with some pictures of the facility. www.dhhorsetraining.com/index.html

I have followed Whiskeys story from the time she was with Amiee to current and I can't begin to tell you how pleased I am with how she has turned out. She is a beautiful mare that has so much potential. Everyone who has worked with her since coming to SAFE has done a wonderful job. Kathleen...you have put the icing on the cake. I wish I was in a better position to take her but having 3 horses would be too much at the current time.
