Lavendar/purple is correct. Unfortunately I doubt I'll be able to come up for this. Val - about books - I assessed and purchased used and antiquarian book collections for my former employer for 7 years. If I can help from afar with pricing books, I'd like to do that. Also, if people *do* donate books, it might be a good thing to advertise that there are books at the sale to attract the scouts. There are lots of people who make a living by buying underpriced used books at garage sales, etc, and then reselling them on ebay (or to booksellers like my former employer). Keep an eye out for stuff that looks out of the ordinary - and if you have questions be sure to PM me. I had no idea - well - books are IN then! Thanks Jenny!

Was posting an ad on Craigslist in or out? Since I am such a loser and can't be there on the actual day, I can place the ad and try to coordinate pick ups with people who are able from the responses from the ad. I think the easist way would be to post for help in pick ups and see who can do what. I think the ad should be placed in the first week of June, and by that time, we will hopefully have a storage facility ready for people to drop stuff off when they can. Anybody have the logo on a file? ?

Jaybird probably has the logo. We could just use purple/lavendar stickers to mark the items that are for SAFE. I don't know how much horse-people will come through, should we have a tack sale maybe in July or ?

Re: books - they should be in good condition (e.g. spines not broken, NO MOLD! (it spreads like rainrot!), pages intact, etc.). No old encyclopedias, no hardback Reader's Digest books...
Also - I read an article in the WSJ today about personal organizer/planners (did you know they exist? I need one!) - they said that one aspect of their job that they find satisfying is donating their clients' unwanted goods to charitable organizations...
Anyone know any personal organizer/planner types? Might be a great source of goods for this yard sale! ;D

17" Medium tree, dressage saddle, really pretty dark, dark brown. SUPER well taken care of. Short billets. Small knee roll, deep seat. Gusseted panels. It fits horses with high withers and flat backs REALLY well. It fit Lady when she had more muscle around her withers, now it sits too high in back on her, and she has a fancy new Roosli anyways We kept this saddle because it is SUPER comfy, my mom loves it. But it really doesn't fit Lady at all anymore. I have a really long girth that I would sell with it, I think it is a 54"? I'm keeping my 48" for the Ladel. I have a matching bridle to go with it, square raised, brown, F/S, with a removable flash noseband. Something funky is going on with the raised front part of the reins, like the padding underneath the leather dried out and cracked? They still function fine, but it may need new reins for a horse show. I also have a 78" Masta rain sheet that doesn't fit Lady.....a set of shipping boots......a F/S fly mask.....bell boots....a 78" summer sheet......a few bits.......a western-style bridle with rope reins.......a lunge cavesson....that is all I can think of right now. And, it is all super nice and in pretty good condition.

Hmm well I honestly have no idea how to price the saddle. Between $500 and $800 probably, I paid $950 for it about 6 years ago...If I could get $500 for it and give the rest to SAFE, that would be great. It really is in nice condition, but it is always hard to sell the brown saddles.
Is 25% going to SAFE about right? At Mills it was 20% consignment fee for saddles, 30% for clothing. Here are prices: Sheet- $80 (it is basically new) Shipping boots- $35 (they are the tall kind that go over the hock/knee, but a bit scuffed on the bottoms) Shipping boots- $20 (these are the soft kind, nylon outside w/ fleece lining) Fly mask- $15 Bell boots- $5 Summer sheet- $40 5.5" snaffle - $10 5 " western style snaffle w/ copper inlays- $15 Western Bridle - $30 Lunge Cavesson - $50 English Bridle - $60
Everything is F/S
