How's the Dobb-ster doing? I miss his old-man nose and wise old eyes. Would love to see another Santa pic like the one from last Christmas.

It's been over 4 months since our last Dobbin update. Can they send a picture?

OK, here's the deal. We do follow ups every six months minimum. We always try to get adopters to come on here and provide their own updates, but if we have to reach out we do it every six months. We don't have the bandwidth to do anymore, I am sorry. I am sure he is fine, or we would be contacted.
Please understand we are doing the best we can but are already stretched very thin and behind on the yearly site visits which are even more important than the bi-yearly checkups.

As promised, here is a wonderful update on Dobbin: Hi Jaime,
Good to hear from you. This has been a tough winter and we are just getting started. Dobbin is doing well and his feet are looking good. He still moves like an old man but he seems to be tolerating this cold weather well. We got him a good rain proof blanket which keeps most of him dry and warm and protects him from the wind. In June we took in a second gelding who needed a place to stay. His family went to Alaska for three years on a church mission. They want him back when they return home. His name is Willie and his owners say he is 34 years old. He is half Arabian and half quarter horse. The two horses look a lot alike except Willie has the dish face of the Arab and Dobbin is longer in the body. We learned through observation that they can not be fed in the same area because Dobbin will not get his share of the food. So we keep them in adjoining fields where they can talk over the fence. Sometimes Larry feeds them in the barn which we have been doing lately. Then we can turn them out together. We have been getting good orchard grass hay from Cedar Wind Farm. It smells fresh and is tender and green. Dobbin does not eat as much hay as he should so we have increased his grain. I am going to send this e-mail to you through my daughter, Wendy so she can attach some pictures for you to see of the two horses. The pictures were taken the end of October. I will keep you posted but write any time. Sincerely, Velma

Both horses seemed happy and were in great shape for their ages. It was really nice to see well cared for old guys. They are on their own special feeds and free choice hay. They will end their days as happy horses.
