Yea For Dobbin! I am so happy to hear that he will be getting his own home. He reminds me so much of my CBER guy Comet. Same, age, face, color and expect for Dobbin's bit of sway they could be twins.

I'm furious at this women, poor Dobbins, there was a time I thought about bringing him out to be with Ginger, but he seemed to be well adjusted at that barn, I wonder if she even fed him the supplements I bought for him....since apparently she was horrible.

Sorry, but I'm angry, each and everytime a old horse is not fed properly it takes months and months up to a year to recover and some never do.

Sorry Tina, I understand why you are angry. I am too. As for the supplements I don't know for sure. Bonnie and I brought them out to her when we visited, but there was no sign of them when I picked him up (I looked for them). It seemed like it was a big container and shouldn't have been empty that quickly.

I dont care about the money, just poor Dobbins, I really wanted to help his arthritis is all, as you know, I know the care that is needed for an arthritic older horse, maybe its just losing Ginger and then seeing this, I'm almost in a triraid about this women...I'm so happy that Dobbins will now have a safe loving home to call his own. I have tears.

I'm so glad dobbin potentiall has a permanent home to call his own. How defeating it must be to have found this Jaime. Thank you for being such a *good* rescuer and for the transparency of SAFE. I'm just not even sure what to say beyond that. How incredibly frustrating!

Poor sweet old man. I sure hope a forever home works out for him. Whomever does take him home will be very lucky. I'm glad everything lined up so that he was found before it was too late.

What an awful situation. Poor Dobbin. People are so crazy, I don't get it AT ALL.
I'm really glad this story has a happy ending though, hopefully it is all going to be good for him now.

Hi schwung -- I just read this thread and I am SO sorry to hear about what happened. Do you have any fosters in South King County or Pierce, or Kitsap County? If so I would be happy to be a volunteer to check on them, even on a weekly basis. I'd love to be able to help in any way. I can't get up to Snohomish or north King County, but if you have any fosters in my area (Pierce County/Tacoma), I'd be happy to check in on them and be your eyes. Consider that an open invitation. I can be reached at Thompson_216@hotmail.com.

Thank you Beth! We don't have any fosters in South King or Pierce (and the only horses in Kitsap County are at Jaybird's or right next door to her), but I will definitely keep that offer in mind! I am doing a site visit for Dobbin's potential new home this evening, so cross your fingers it and the reference checks go well!

I am way down south here in Or E Gone, so I am not much help. I am certainly thankful your farrier went out there when she did.

Well the site visit went very well, now we are checking references....
His potential new home has 11.7 acres of almost all pasture, with one cow (who has only ever lived with horses) for company. It is pretty much horse heaven as far as grass goes!

I will cross my fingers - I'd love to see him in a safe, loving home at last. Poor guy has had an unlucky year!
