How is Dobbin after his trip to say farewell to Bo? I hope he's well.

He was good, except for getting one of his front feet up in his hay bag. I held his leg us as Jaime unsapped the bag and removed his hoof. He just stood there like a statue. We went to Eden Farms to say "hi" after we left Pilchuck and unloaded Dobbin so he could stretch and graze. He was totally nonchalant about the new environment. I even walked him through the trail obstacle course and he just walked along side me through all the obstacles. He wasn't too thrilled about the 'pony-eating carwash', but walked through with a bit of encouragement. Dobbin was just cool as a cucumber during his Saturday adventure. He will be such a great friend for someone

Update from Dobbin's foster home: Dobbin is doing great! he is absolutely bomb proof and so sweet. He is still very tender on his front feet though. I have started him on a joint supplement and moved him up to 3 feedings a day and added beet pulp to his evening meal. I hope he overcomes the tenderness because he is such a wonderful guy. I gave him a bath yesterday when it was so hot and he was such an angel, must be the quarter horse in him. He is such a beautiful copper color. If he overcomes his lameness he is going to make an awesome kids horse or even an inexperienced rider. If my son lets me let him go.

From the kind eye to the swayback to the color, markings and build it is hard to ignore that "Dobbin" looks exactly like a horse that I used to own named Billy.

They both look wonderful and happy!!! Don't you love it how they immediately roll after the bath...only clean for .02 seconds and then down for the roll to get them back to the way they like it!

The trick is to rope off your yard and let them graze while they dry so that if they roll, they do it on nice clean grass! That's what I did this weekend.
Dobbin looks wonderful. He looks to have gained some weight already.

Unless you have a sand arena, for which they will go in there to roll and not on the grass!!

yes he is definately gaining weight. He is on Senior pellets, Beat pulp, access to a protein block and lots of grass. Plus everytime i turn around it seems a kid is giving him an apple or carrot. Thank you for noticing the weight gain
