Sarah is free. Ms. Home Alone may be run through the auction today. We are awaiting word on that. Last time she went through, she was $300, I think.

I have been told that Miss Home Alone is safe. Also that she is probably a mare named "Cricket" - a mare that supaloma knows. She came from the same place as my little pony Cactus Flower. Cricket was an Azteca mare, trained to drive and not ride, 10 years old, with a melanoma on her girth area. Kim confirmed this mare also has a melanoma on her girth area.
She cost $400, which is more than we raised so we'll need to help with the difference.
Also, Geri suggested that they be moved to the Aalto's and put in a stall until we can find foster care for them. I didn't have any issues with that as long as its temporary and as long as the group is willing to raise the funds to pay for it (I know there are concerns about taking on another financial obligation when we have so many other horses and limited funds).

count me in...
looks like around $300 has been raised thus far... Aalto's place is around $125/month for stall isn't it? So need about $350 more to cover bail for MHA plus one month board for both of them... then more for vet check, etc. (Amazing that geri knows her)

WE HAVE MS. HOME ALONE !!!!!! Kim and LilDun charmed their way into obtaining her from the breeder. He was..... interesting, apparently. She is $400.... There are two places that we can put her, a healthy horse. Neither are available for a special needs horse.

Cool ;D
I meant to say in my last post that I am willing to donate AT LEAST $25 a month towards Sarah's board until she is either adopted or in foster care!

I just got off the phone with the Aaltos...they don't want to bring in horses for short term and they aren't okay with their need for quarantine. Rats. But it does sound as though MHA has a place to go. I have another idea on a stall for Sarah and have left a message. It sure would be great to get her here and have Dr. Evergreen look her over.

Things are sorting out really well. Lildun has a foster home for Sarah and MHA will be going to my neighbor's farm-a foster placement also. Kim says she is busy chipping dried poop off of Sarah with Jaybird and Lildun so they can fluff her hair up to blanket her. The mares are fed and watered and Kim is going to figure out the hauling arrangements with the other gals over the next couple days. Sounds as though MHA is likely the mare, Cricket, judging by her appearance and character. Kim is really enjoying her social, playful (and probably very grateful) behavior. Thank you all for helping these mares. Geri

Good news for the two lucky girls.. definitely will be a Happy Thanksgiving for them.
I'm grateful to all of you "on the scene" who are making this happen...
MHA and, even more, Sara, truly represent "Forgotten Equines." (Heck, even the meat man didn't want Sara.)
