She's an S mare (that part is pretty clear), so that makes her 18, which matches her physical age.

I just was looking back at your pictures and the options and wow - its really hard to tell. What is the difference in information for the $35 to $50 dollar options? Maybe you can go with the cheapest and get all three.

The difference is just the more expensive option gives you a full race record and I think offspring, but still doesn't tell you the marking information. I also emailed the TRPB to see if they could help as they do tattoo research also...hopefully they have access to that information (I don't understand why they wouldn't, its something that is put on the papers).

Well, the Thoroughbred Racing Protective Bureau also does tattoo searches and apparantly does have the ability to match on markings:
The searches performed at TRPB are based on the tattoo photos sent in by the interested person which are compared to photographs we have on file. When the tattoos are perfectly matched then the sex, color and markings are used as confirmation that the horse has been accurately identified, These photographs are also requested from the horse owner. I am not sure how the Jockey Club conducts their searches but hopefully you will be happy with whatever option you choose. Best of luck with your horse, Chris Neddo Bookkeeper/Thoroughbred Identity Researcher Thoroughbred Racing Protective Bureau (410)398-2261 Ex 230 cneddo@trpb.com
They cost $60 for a result with name and parentage, or $70 for a result that includes race record, so more than double the Jockey Club cost. And, if they get it wrong (not sure how I would know that, honestly), then they only refund half of that.
Hmm.

She looks great, but then she always looks great. She's a beautiful mare!

So Jamie have you decided on any guesses on Vanna's "numbers"? I'm curious to see what kind of history she has. She's just so beautiful. I also am honestly kind of curious to see if there's any Vanna babies running around out there.

Just had to share this photo of my beautiful girl taken today. My horses are all being moved out, as it looks like the rescues will be here for a while. Tara's gone to a lease home, Slam is going to Jaybird Acres for a while, Tessa is going back into training, and Miss Vanna went today to clearlybluebreeze's (who fostered Titan for a while). It is sad for me to send my horses off, but I am telling myself it is only temporary and necessary for their safety as well as allow the rescues to have full use of my property. In Vanna's case, at least she is only a few miles away and I can visit often, and will be ridden regularly by Kelsey, Dr. Hannah's vet assistant.

It may have been a sad day for Jaime, but not for Redmond - who while in his stall (while his paddock was being refurbished) recognized his girl right away. He has seen many horses being unloaded from trailers and never a peep has emerged but even before Vanna unloaded - he was calling to her. (We live next door to Clearlybluebreeze)
It will be great to have Kelsey over to ride Vanna and let Redmond revisit with his pasture buddy. Vanna wasn't always nice to Redmond, but she was still his girl.

Vanna looks gorgeous in these photos.. She is has come along way under saddle too! She looks awesome. So, sorry you have to send your horses out.. but you are right its for they're own safety. In a way it'll be nice to have your time to devote to the rescue horses.. as they need it. But I know you'll miss your horses. Can't wait to hear more about Tessa's training!

Jaime, that is a very kind sacrifice you are making - I have to laugh, though, that it seems only chestnuts with white socks and stockings are allowed in your area, Redmond? ;D
