Tacoma unit would be most central (sorry So. Cal. girls!) for the show, but Bridle Trails would be so nice. I love the over fences classes too, especially hunter hack!

Hey everyone, I could use some help with the show planning, even at this early stage. First and foremost we have to nail down a venue and a date, and I myself am doing a fairly half-arsed job of accomplishing this. I could really use the help of someone who is detail-oriented and persistent and has some spare time to donate who can work with me on this.
I also really need more people to weigh in on the idea of a two-day show versus a one-day show. If we add in hunter/jumper classes or dressage classes or gaited classes, we'll need judges for those events, as well as a lot more volunteers to run things. Is this going to be too much of an undertaking?
I could use a volunteer to go take a look at the expo center in Enumclaw. I'll try to call Monroe Fairgrounds today. Is there someone who'd be willing to contact the Puyallup Fair grounds? And someone who can get more information about using Bridle Trails?

What do you want to know about Enumclaw? I can talk to Joan (one of the gals in charge of running the place) to find out what is on tap for renovations and scheduling. I can also take some pictures.

Well, I have bronchitis and can barely squeak, but I'd be happy to go see the Puyallup fairgrounds for you and take pics and get info if you schedule it....it's on my way home from work.

Bonnie (and everyone else), I'm here for you with whatever I can help with from this side of the mountains. I'm happy to call, email, etc whatever we need that can be done from that angle.
As far as the two day show, I do think it would be a great idea if we can find a venue that would allow for the camping that would probably accompany the whole thing (and still within a reasonable price range). I would be happy to lend extra hands wherever necessary, though if we're going to still run a trails class next time, I would be happy to just take over that whole section again. I had a ton of fun with that last year! Also, I don't know much about dressage and hunter/jumper. I've always ridden western and trails, so that's really my forte.
Please let me know if you can think of anything I can do from this side of the mountains!

So, Bonnie or Jamie or really anyone on the board.... ;D
Do we have any further ideas on when the next show might be or where it might be? I'm so excited to do this again. Lack of sleep and all, it was great!

I also will help out again if I can get the time off. It should be fun.

So I've been thinking a lot about the one-day vs two-day shows... if this has already been decided, disregard everything further! My thinking is b/c this is a new show, and only the second year running it, AND b/c we're so dependent on volunteers... I think a one day would be better, at least for another year. It's a chance to hammer out any kinks, get to be a little bit smoother machine (although I wasn't there, so perhaps the machine is already smooth!). I know it's possible for me to get one day off and arrange child care, but two days is almost impossible unless I have my little man with me (especially on a weekend!). So that's my two cents. I'm really excited about this year's show, and plan on begging/pleading/kicking to make sure I'm there. PS. If anyone can think of a job for a scatterbrained 4 year old, make it a two day show and Damien and I both will be there with bells on!

Did you guys ever decide on the show? Where and when? It would be nice if we could do our own food this year also. My husband likes to BBQ, and he could probably be talked into that duty. I think we could make some money if we could do our own food. I could get some buns donated from my bakery if we decide to do that.

I have emailed Snohomish County regarding availability of the Monroe Fairgrounds, haven't heard anything back yet. I think where/when is going to depend on what is available and how much it'll cost.

I would love to help out as long as it is a time when I am available! I'll keep looking back for updates!

OK, so I promise I'm not being pushy, but now that the holidays are over, perhaps we could look at setting a specific date and venue for the horse show? That way we could start rounding up all those awesome sponsors from last year and more?
OK, OK, I admit. I'm *not so secretly* looking forward IMMENSELY to the horse show. I think I've got some really good ideas for the trails course this year. That is, if I'm still allowed to judge/help out with that portion of the competition again!

This might be out there a bit, but what about Remlinger farms. I know that they are now hosting the Evergreen Classic. Bonnie Remlinger seems to have a good heart and raises horses herself.

We are researching venues and available dates and will have something to post as soon as we get it nailed down. Rest assured it has not been forgotten.
In the meantime, feel free to e-mail or PM a Bod Member if you know of a facility that we should look into.
