Okay... here are the latest pics of her taken this morning. Her bags are bigger again. My DH came in last night and told me she was getting bags again. He pushed her up against the stall wall and felt them (got kicked for his trouble). He says they are hard and firm. They weren't before Thanksgiving. What do you think? Here's a shot from Nov. 19th (for comparision). Here's one from this morning... Here are just a few shots of her from this morning... She's a bit dirty. I haven't done her brushing for the day...

I would guess shes do early next year like Next month or February. She looks about the same size as my mare whos do in March (the stomach, not the bags) but with the bags, she seems more like January or maybe this month. who knows.... does anyone know what breed she is?

I've been told by a few that she looks saddlebred to them. I have no idea.

Thats what I was thinking, that or a TWH but without seeing her upclose (in person), I wouldnt know. I just thought she looked similar to one of those.

I got a pregnant mare and no one knew when she was due. One thing clued me in that she was ready, even though she didn't look very ready. I think it's called belly jumping.
I was able to feel the foal moving and occasionally see it, but in the last few weeks her whole belly would sort of jump, kind of like a huge hiccup. I don't know how to explain what it looked like, but it was very noticeable.
Regarding the udder, the mare never bagged up before the delivery. Even two years later, her teats look similar to these.

Any sign of a baby?
Is she calming down and getting nicer?

Adara is fine. No real sign of baby, though her bags are bigger, not quite as big as when we got her, but close. Her belly is getting huge, poor horse. We're thinking this month or February. I'll let everyone know when she does foal. She's real calm with us, still has her moments, but they are getting further and further apart. She still won't let me pick up her feet, but I can grip them with out her trying to get them away from me. She's coming along, slowly, but she's getting there. Strangers on the other hand are a real problem. She will totally freak out the minute someone she doesn't know approaches the stall/pen. Bucking, running back and forth, kicking, squealing, snorting... Strangers really bother her. If they stand real still for a few minutes she'll calm down, but the minute they go to move away she gets all worked up again. Everytime anyone comes over I make them go stand outside her stall and talk to her. I really don't know what else to do to get her over this fear she has of new people. (My poor Mom, standing out there in the pouring rain, begging me to let her leave. She stayed there, talking to me on the cell phone (I stayed out of sight) until Adara was nice and calm...) This fear of her's is our biggest issue at this point.

Hi, sorry I've been busy and haven't gotten around to updating. I'll try to do better, I really will. So, no baby yet. But she has bigger bags and her belly is huge! Really wide now. She's still gaining weight and having fussy days and good days. She has a couple of buddies that sleep with her now and hang out there most of the day. Yep, chickens. She tolerates them so well. Though I have a feeling they'll be kicked out when baby finally comes. I will post pics. I have new ones somewhere but I've had a very bad day and really am too tired to go looking for them. I'll get them up as soon as I can.

The foal moves alot, especially after she eats her feed mix. Hopefully, she'll foal soon.

Sorry with all the hectic activity in my life lately, I haven't updated anyone's threads. To answer the question Shire, No she hasn't had her foal yet. She is huge. We had to widen her stall door in order for her to get in and out without rubbing her sides. She is also carrying it low as well, that belly just drops way down. Her bags go up and down in size so they're no help at all. Her tail head is drooped and is only somewhat mushy. Her milk veins are huge though. She's shedded out to be a beautiful bright gold palomino color too. I have no real idea when she'll foal, but I'll post pictures when she does. I'm thinking it's gonna be a really big foal. Either that or it just has lots of room to stretch out in. My apologies for not updating on her sooner. I know there are a lot of people who fell in love with her. I'll make an attempt to do better. Have a great day.
