That's interesting. Just not broke is a LOT better than traumatized ex-bucking stock!

I'm still on a high watching the change in Honeycutt from Saturday to Sunday. He's going to make someone a very, very nice horse companion.

remember...he was the 1st inquiry- contact I had with SAFE & you will never know how impressed I went away after the 1st phone conversation with you..and as fate would have it...Rob entered our lives, I'm still head over hills in love with that old guy! And I still 'thank you' each of you, from the bottom of my heart I'm sure Honeycutt's someone will be as rewarded as we have been with Rob! Rob can't help it...he makes your heart sing!

Bam will be coming home the weekend after next, he blows up everytime saddled. We are going to try one last thing, and that is if the prison training program can take him they spend 6 hours a day with the horse 5 days a week in Carson City. Took our mustang there for 3 months and kids could ride her then, they do great work. He just needs more hours than our trainer can give him I am hoping. The down side to this is there is at least a year waiting period but that is ok we have the time to just love on him.

Patty, I think that is awesome.... I also think it's a fantastic program and more prisons should offer such to the inmates. Certainly working with animals helps people build deep bonds and emotions many of the inmates didn't know they had.

Did I mention that Will our trainer is the one that was IN prison and trained our Mustang? He is the one that has Bam now and since his release he is SO busy he just doesn't have the time with such a problem horse. Bam takes twice as much time as his others and charges us teh same, so its just not cost effective for him and I don't blame him either. He is partners with a gal and they have a large training facility going on. And all this is thanks to Carson City Prison Systems letting them do this wonderful thing for Mustangs and private owners. When we took Cheyenne away from Will in prison he cried he was very attached to her after 3 months. If any of you ever get the chance to go to one of their auctions I recommend them highly. You can see their horses at silverstateindustries.com and click on the palomino horse. Great program making mustangs more desireable and training inmates for careers outside the prison. Will already owned horses but this experience changed his life and ours for having him in our lives.
