Great Update. Bam is still at our trainers till mid august but Eric went to go see him Saturday and got his feet trimmed, he was EXCELLENT!!! got tired by the time did the back, but not bad at all. Eric will be going on Friday morning and hope to get more pics especially with saddle and rider, will keep you all posted. We have about 3500.00 into him now but I think he is so worth it, just looking at his eyes makes it special to me.

ok, Bam took the week off and now back to square one. Finally got a glimpse of his other brand on top of his butt it is (125) he now for sure has been a bucking horse. People can contact this person that owned these horses, some are quite dangerous I have been told. Ther contact person is Truman Hall and goes by Mouse Hall in Browning, Montana 59417. I have come to the conclusion that I have spent over 3500.00 on a very cute pasture ornament but that is ok with us. He is very sweet to approach and can now trim feet and do vet work with ease and that is what was most important to us. I am not going to have Eric risk his life again trying to ride this guy. ANYONE THAT GOT A BUCKING STOCK PLEASE LOOK AND SEE IF THERE IS A SECOND BRAND ACROSS THEIR BUTTS, THESE HORSES WERE USED AND ABUSED WITH CATTLE PRODS AND OTHER DEVICES, AND COULD COST YOU YOUR LIFE. Bam is so huge Eric or I never saw the brand on the top of butt till this week, maybe due to him being gray but it was very very hard to see.If anyone that got one of these dangerous horses you can email me and I will give you the outfitters number to call and maybe can get some info if he can remember that particular horse. Alittle bummed out right now but will get over it.

Thanks for that info, since it is public not private I dont see the issue, and people with bucking stock should be informed. So Patty, apparently youve talked to this Rancher and he was ok ? Very cool! Ive found most horses Ive rescued and contacted previous owners/breeders are awesome!

Patty and Eric, I'm glad you reached Truman. I figured he would be willing to chat about his stock. Most breeders of bucking stock certainly don't have anything to hide as it is what they do for a living. I did tell some of the others that adopted the BS to check for the additonal number on top to see if they had in fact been bucked off. At least they will know what precautions to take and what may be ahead of them for safe handling and training. You both have done a great job with Bam, he is so handsome. At least he's a beauty to look

Thanks everyone, and rhea yes he is the most beautiful horse I have ever owned, just really bummed, he is now 1800 lbs and over 17 hands and I and the trainer and Eric feel it is just not safe, he is a kind and sweet and loving horse now but (humans) have ruined this horse to be a true riding horse, I would never trust him with anyone ever so he is ours forever. He is very sweet from the ground but if this horse is not ridden everyday (which is impossible for us) he should be left alone. I couldn't even give him away for a pasture pet for starters were too attached and he doesn't like other horses so that sucks too. He will have to live out his life alone and by himself and that hurts me to think what someone has done to him. But he does have us for lots of hugs, pets and kind words and his daily treats. Someone could have been seriously injured or killed by him. When we took him to the trainer he just now told me that Bam went after him and he honestly felt Bam wanted to kill him and if he was not quick to get out of the pen it could have been fatal. Bam probably thought Will was just another abuser, I feel so sorry for this horse and what he has had to endure in his short little 6 yrs. Bam doesn't scare me anymore he likes people now but it is just to dangerous to try and ride a horse that has been so abused. But after my rambling....on and on...we love him and always will.....

Rhea, I have saved many a horse about 30 so far in my life and I have done the research in the past to find previous owners at least 20 times and not once did I run into someone rude or not willing to talk. Yes I think what that outfitter did to Bam is just terrible but when you want answers you got to kill them with kindness....and its not set in stone yet but might be getting a shire filly and yes another rescue, will keep you all posted and Rhea thank you a million times for steering me in the right direction on Bam or I would have never known. If not for you it would have taken me alot longer to find the info I needed. God Bless you all and give them all an extra hug for me!

Patty thanks for taking Bam and being responsible and not rehoming him. Someday someone is going to get hurt and/or killed because of the lack of information, not taking the time to properly evaluate these animals. Its sad, but its coming eventually...
Anyways, Bam is adorable! At least he no longer has to worry and hes not going to kill anyone, Could you imagine if someone with a kid adopted this horse. Scary thought.

Let me know about the Shire filly. Is she registered?
Thank you for all you have done for Bam! He will be an absolutely wonderful pasture pet, and maybe you will find a horse he does like.

I am confused. Are you glad you got the horse, or not? It's hard to tell. And why would anyone think that a horse from a bucking string would make a good saddle horse?

If you have read the thread, you would see that yes, she is happy you got him. AND, there are ALOT of past bucking stock that make good saddle horses. Have you never been to a rodeo? Very rarely do they buck after the flank strap is removed. Plus, he is young, why not hope that he can be turned around?
