I am going to be moving up your way shortly with Chevelle and I am looking for an exceptional boarding facility for her. I have found a couple places I like the looks of, but I would LOVE your insight on what places are good...and maybe more importantly, what places to avoid! Conversely, if any of you would consider boarding my well behaved big pony on your property, drop me a line and let me know. Depending on the facility and the amenities, I'm looking to spend somewhere around $300/month. Requirements for the princess: -at least 12 x 12 stall, run a big plus -safe safe fencing, preferably wood -full care or mostly full care -indoor arena -fed good quality hay (we'll be selling our truck so I'm losing my ability to haul my own) -somewhere relatively close to downtown Portland, like say...within 40 minutes Is this going to be mission impossible? I'd also love good farrier/vet recommendations...as I'll be losing both the vet I love and the farrier I adore when we move. I would be so grateful for any help! Chev and I thank you!

Hey there - I live in Portland and board my guy in Wilsonville/Sherwood. I can't help too much with boarding facility ideas (but PM me anyway if you have specific places in mind, if you want).
I know that cat and Jessica have a specific farrier they really like - I like mine (and my prior one) but neither one is taking new clients. You might PM cat67, squirrels, or trillium, here, for farrier. Come to think of it, squirrels likely knows boarding facilities that might meet your specifications.
There are two vet practices I know personally and really like - Columbia Equine (they do a lot of the h/js here) and Pacific Crest Sporthorse (they do a lot of the dressage horses in our area). Both practices have helped and supported SAFE and several SAFE horses at various times, as an added plus IMO. ; )
