From her current owner, who has asked for our assistance in rehoming her mare.
Horse's Name: Genevieve (Gen)
Location: Sammamish
Age: 10
Breed: Standardbred
Sex: Mare
Color/Markings: Bay; no markings
Height: 16 hh
Training/Discipline used for: Jumping, english pleasure, trails
Soundness or health issues: None
Ridability and level of rider best suited for: She requires a confident rider who is at least intermediate. She is very responsive in that if you do anything wrong in your riding, she will reflect that in her behavior. If her rider is stiff, she will buck going into the canter and toss her head. She never has been and never will be a push button horse and if she can get away with something, she will. She will do best with a rider who enjoys a regular challenge.
Feeding requirements: She's a very easy keeper. She gets three flakes of grass a day and some grain.
Shoeing requirements: She has been barefoot for three years with no soundness problems and no soreness over gravel or rocks. She has also been shod before with no problems.
Vices, behavior issues: Daily turnout is a requirement for her and it must be in an area large enough for her to run. She's very energetic and if kept confined, she can be difficult to handle. That being said, she has excellent ground manners. She either should not be turned out with other horses or should be separated during feeding.
Date of last vaccinations and types: 5/09, everything but west nile
Date of last worming and type: 5/18/10, ivermectin
Date of last dental float: not UTD
Date of last farrier visit: 5/18/10
She has not been ridden regularly or very often for the past two years. She is still ride-able, just a little rusty.
This mare will be brought UTD on her dental and any other routine care prior to her adoption. Her adoption fee is $600.
