sadly, I have to sell one of my horses, Doc. we don't work well enough together... so I'm looking for another horse that I can show next year in 4-h doing mostly western and gamin and some english and maybe dressage. I have a very tight buget, $1000 at the most. would one of the rescues be a good match? and i can also lease

Have you looked at Dexter? I always thought he would be a great all-around horse. Or Zan once she's done with training? Both need experienced riders, but are young enough to do anything. Plus they're pintos and 4H judges love those.

If you have a budget of $1000, maybe you should go to a trainer for awhile and work with them and your horse together. Sometimes that can be helpful, then you would not have to sell the horse you already own.
