It's nice of the church folks to come out and clean the place up, but that is sort of just enabling the situation, don't you think? I could be off base here, but if it's cleaned up when AC comes out and the church comes out a few times a week to maintain those horses aren't going anywhere.

There is an extensive thread on Auction Horses dedicated to the situation concerning this woman and these horses. It was also mentioned on yesterday's post on FHOTD. I think everyone's hoping the publicity will get AC to do something more.

this has me all kinds-a-crazy right now Shameful...my concern is the coordination of placing 40 horses...I wonder if PCAC is hoping that if she releases horses into foster care that it's different than seizing them & having the county become financially responsible? what's the protocol on things like this? What a HUGE undertaking....it exhausts me just thinking about it...

40 horses on 5 acres? Is that even legal? I think Ms. Wilson would have to surrender the horses to Ripleys or AC as an alternative to AC just seizing them. If not, she would still retain ownership. I read that she has over 120 horses registered in her name. Um, can you say hoarder?

Ripley's is an aid organization although some of the folks do have the ability to foster...it's not a rescue! Placing 40 horses is going to be REALLY hard ... I know a few places that might *temporarily* foster but we all know what that means... it making my heart really heavy right now

Someone posted in the comments that Ripley's has fosters lined up for all the horses. The rehab and rehome alone could take years. Look at our horses, Annie has been here a bit over 2 years and Cedar was here almost as long. It's not easy to find appropriate homes for green horses. And if I understand correctly, most of these horses are unhandled. The hope of their original breeders taking them back is unlikely as Ms. Wilson bred most of them herself. Large-scale Jean Ellege.

This woman is a nutcase. She really believes she has some horses worth money. I was on this property a couple weeks before this came out. There were other people trying to get horses out but after talking to her it was clear she was not going to release them unless she was made to. She kept changing which horses she wanted to get rid of and was angry that people were there to help her. We saw her in the barn weeks before she says she was on the property. These horses mostly arent in horrible body condition but they are all tiny. I bet the majority are around 13h at 5 years old! I have pics I can post if I can get them off my darn phone

You should contact the AC as I'm sure they could really use your hard evidence.

I have emailed my statement allready to the woman who was initially working on this but now that a/c is involved I will do that too. Wish I had thought to get a pic of her on the property to disprove her bs that she hadnt been there.

I went out and visited some of the relinquished horses today. 13 have been surrendered so far. They're on the small side but look like they could end up being nice for small adults or kids when they rehab. Very pretty when you look past the obvious issues but they're in a great intake place and are getting lots of attention.

Just wanted to clear up a little misprint. Obviously, I am not a SAFE board member as has been mentioned in the Eatonville Dispatch newspaper in recent articles about the state of the Wilson Arabians. Bruce, the reporter who has been covering this story, is a very nice person and is one of the few who will avidly report on the state of horse neglect and abuse in our area, and I feel we are lucky to have him, but he has chosen the wrong word to describe my affiliation with SAFE. I am however, a huge believer and supporter of SAFE and believe strongly in the quality of this rescue. Just wanted to eliminate the confusion that may be brewing because of this! Thanks!

I saw this posted on another board and wondered if anyone knew if it was true.. The horses have only been out of their neglectful situation for less than 3 months and they already want to put them down??? I hope someone can clear this up. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I Sabrina ConnaughtonJune 19, 2010 at 2:08pm Subject: Help please if you can Ripley's has 5 horses that need to be put into foster or adopted by Monday night or they may have to be euthanized. They are all pure bred Arabians from the Darlene Wison case in Roy and have no medical issues. Veterinary, farrier, and rehab has been done and Ripley's can pay for hay for foster. They are all very sweet but have no place to go. Please pass this on if you know of anyone that might be able to temporarilly or permanently house one of these horses. We are out of options and begging for someone to take them and give them a chance. There are pictures on the Ripley's facebook page. There was an adoption fee of $200 but that can be waived. We just need to find somewhere for them to stay or they will need to be euthanized and that is such a shame because they have come so far and deserve a chance at life after all they have gone through. If you have any ideas or anyone I can contact please let me know. Thank you so much. Sabrina was sent this e-mail via face book... Please pass the word, For adoption/foster information please contact Rose Corey at 253-921-0585 or 1rosecorey@gmail.com. To make a donation please go to our website: www.freewebs.com/rhaf/ -or contact Wilma Tronstad at 360-424-8250. Thank-you

No, that email is not vaild. That info was not posted on the Ripley's facebook page or as a public email to anyone. It was part of a personal message pertaining to "talk" on the subject. Ripley's is not euthanizing horses but the rehoming situation was urgent and euthanasia is always a possibility with any horse that cannot be adopted after exhausting all avenues. All avenues have not been exhausted and these horses are being rehomed. Please remove your post as it is heresay and not fact. Anything can be shared and reworded via FB and unfortunately this has taken away from the real issue of rehoming these horses. :-)
