As I told Jaime on the phone tonight I promise to send her EVERYTHING I have on Lola. Photos, videos, everything. I just want to be kept in the loop as well. Next time I am on the West Side (I live near Moses Lake now) I would like to stop and see her if she's still at SAFE.
I have alot more photos and video, including her papers.

jennmiller, thank you for sharing those photos/video...
You may not know what a treasure those are for those of us who know Lola and especially for the person that will one day adopt her. I've been able to share photos of the Dams of a few of the SAFE babies over the last few years and while it breaks my heart to know I was not able to save them, it gives me a sense of peace to be able to help fill in the blanks a little for the horses who survived (the questions are frustrating...I KNOW!!!) but also to give tribute to the mares who lost the struggle.
RIP, in deed, Cami

It was nice speaking with you today Jennifer and I hope you have some peace knowing that Lola is safe and very well cared for here. You are welcome to come and visit if you are ever in the area. It also makes me feel better seeing photos of Cami fat and healthy and that she was once loved, because the last few months and weeks of her life were not pleasant for her.

Hey Jaime, I just found out that I am going your way on Monday. I'll give you a call tomorrow to see if I could possibly swing by to see her. It would mean the world to me!

That's kind of a wishy washy situation in itself. There were two studs on the farm where I got her. One Arab and one Appy. They didn't know which one covered her. The people refused to give me a breeders certificate which is why Lola's sire is listed as grade. Those people were a real work of art. Cami had six foals. Two are endurance mares that compete, two aren't even registered. Then there is Lola and another I heard. The fantasy foal on there was me screwing around and I couldn't delete it. Sorry 'bout that. Cami was to be 23 this year. Is Apache99 and Apache Bar Dancer the same horse? Looking at the dam, Outshinetheothers, they both have the same foaling year. Here's a link to a picture of Apache Bar Dancer (since he's not registered, maybe they just changed what they called him?) www.equinehits.com/print.php?id=142408

Interesting... So is it just me or does the sire of Lola look alot like Hollys' sire? Different name. What about Aiden? Was he a part of this whole night mare too? Paper? Maybe half Arab? Hummm......... Happy for Lola to have some background.

Thanks to everyone. Jaime, I am sorry I did not call, just got SO busy while over there on that side. Seems like I just can't fit all my chores into a 2 day trip. Plus emotionally I am not sure if I could have handled seeing little Beep and not wanting to take her home. Hopefully you understand how incredibly tough this is for me.

I am sure this must be just gut wrenching for you. I hope there is at least some peace in knowing not only that miss beep/lola was saved- but that she landed in the best possible place- a rescue where she will be matched up with the perfect adopter who will provide a lifetime of excellent care. If for whatever reason that person can't continue to take care of her, she will never, ever, ever again be in danger because of SAFE's fantastic safety net approach.

Lola's moved with Sinatra over to Jaybird's house, so perhaps she can give an update. I did receive Lola's papers in the mail so we can now offer her as papered 1/2 Arabian.

Wish I had had my video camera handy this afternoon. I went out to the back pasture to look for one of Rolo's shoes that he pulled ( ) and Lola and Sinatra started racing each other around the entire perimeter of the pasture, then back into their paddock, and then back around the pasture, back into the paddock, etc etc. Lola was running so fast!! She's such a tiny thing but she can really move. I think she wants to be Zenyatta when she grows up. And she was bucking and jumping in the air and just have a great time. She's been here for a couple weeks now and she's been a lot of fun to have around. She and Sinatra are joined at the hip, but every so often she'll show him what's what. She's a little flirt with my big boys, especially Rolo, and whenever I load him into the trailer, she'll start calling for him in this little tiny whinny that is SO cute. I'll take some pictures soon. Right now Sinatra looks SO pathetic because of all the rain, so I really don't want to show anyone what he looks like, and it's tough to get a picture of one of them without the other. But this weather can't last forever, can it?
