I can't help but wonder if we are seeing these horses as a result of the economy. It is sad that we are getting them, but on the other hand they have a good place to land. This fall there was an auction yard in Idaho that was charging people 75 dollars per horse to list in the auction as so many people were not coming back to claim the horses if they did not sell.

What about Hannah? After a vet we all know who has put her heart into these helping these horses. Also, if you spell it "Hana" it means flower in Japanese. I think this is a great idea

The ' Black ' Dahlia and made me shake my head , uh uh, nope not a positive role model......but on the other hand.................... ummmmmmmm .....Jet ? maybe ( ok, coconut fork over the 75 bucks for that plug.....) ;D Really? Only $75? I was thinking THAT name would cost me a $500 adoption fee + 30 years of care Hasn't everyone figured out how prominent NAMES are in my decision making process ... I even picked my husband out that way....

I'm really liking the name Lila or Lola. I think it fits her. I'll post some more pictures shortly and you can see what you think.

I'm 99.9% sure I know the former owners of these horses. If I'm correct this is absolutely NOT NOT NOT a case of poor economy. This is ABUSE, HOARDING, GREED, and NEGLECT and has gone on for YEARS; just like the Elledge horses.

Fanaberia - Would the name Fran Farmer and the Foundation Appaloosa Ranch ring a bell?? Apparently, this little one's dam was owned by Fran Farmer.

Are any of the women who owned these horses named Tricia Dennis or Brenda (something)? They are the ones who went to Fran Farmer's place in Dec, 2007 and took the appies and refused to let any other individuals or rescues take any in. Go to ABR and search for "Fran Farmer". You'll find the whole sordid story in disgusting detail. Pam

Pam - I searched ABR for Fran Farmer and didn't find anything. Do you have a link?
I don't know if it is OK for me to divulge, feel free to delete if I shouldn't, but the girls these horses came from were Noelle and Jessica.
ETA: I am SHOCKED the Snohomish County AC isn't doing anything. There were 2 DEAD horses. What can we do to push the issue?
