Almost four extra years of life...and not getting on the truck. Well done, everybody.

RIP old guy . . . as an owner of a 30 year old horse, I totally understand what a blessing they are. I'm so happy Oliver was in such a good place his final years.

Olly was the horse that drew me into the CBER thread at COTH all those years ago. There was something about his sweet face that really hit me hard when I looked at the picture they had posted on their website. I had just found COTH and that day I had to ask several times how to send money...didn't even think twice about sending it. Later that same day I had to go out of town and I remember spending the entire weekend on pins and needles, trying to read the COTH forum on my blackberry every few hours to make sure he was one of the horses that CBER bought to keep off the truck. On Sunday night when I got home, I had such a bad scare...Olly was listed as "shipped"...I remember there was some frantic posting on the forum about what happened...everyone thought he'd been pulled. Well, obviously he had been and lived another four years being a beloved pet. He and Ginger were my two all time favorites that the COTH group pulled and I am so happy that I could have a small little part in making sure they both got the dignified end they had earned and deserved. I don't always sign on when I'm here these days...I usually do a quick browse close to every day Monday thru Friday. I usually check the RIP thread to make sure none of my favorites have crossed the Rainbow Bridge. I always knew that one day I'd sign on and there would be Olly's name. And I knew I'd be very sad...and I am so sad today to hear. But I'm still so happy that he had such a wonderful final home...thank you very much for giving him the best home an old cow pony could ever have. RIP Olly...I'm sorry I never got to meet you, but you touched me all the same. Run free cute boy!!
