Hello to all the people who know or knew Oliver! It if the Griffin - hall Benson family who ( many years ago now) rescued two beautiful boys from SAFE. One was the blind bay gelding Jasper and the other the elderly Oliver. We have spent many years loving these two boys and are still stunned that they were sent to slaughter. it has been awhile since any one has posted any updates about our two boys so i figured it was time to get an update to you all.
Well first I would like to give the sad news, Oliver 32 years old lift us January 12, 2009 at 4:00 pm. He had a clogged air way and had to be humanely put to sleep. Oliver was an amazing horse and really helped me and my sisters heal. Oliver will always be greatly missed but always remembered.
I would like to share a quick story of Oliver! Oliver was the funniest horse I've ever met! when ever we'd come home from school we'd go out to Oliver still wearing our back packs, we would take them off and oliver would take the back pack straps in his mouth and carry them around. Sometimes though he'd drop them in the mud and we'd get in trouble but we loved him anyways. Another thing Oliver would do is, he'd be allowed in the yard because he'd never go any where, any ways he'd walk around the house and eat grass, well if he got tired of that or just wanted attention he'd walk around and find the garden hoses that were on and pick them up with his teeth and walk around following you but seeming not to notice he had a cold thing in his mouth and that was why we'd walk away from him!
