My beautiful friend passed on very quietly and peacefully this morning. As with everything he did he did so with honor, dignity and a sweet gentleness. He choose a morning blessed with sun, birds chirping, his herd - including me - by his side. I was honored to cradle that big beautiful head and more honored he allowed me to. I will hold his spirit in my heart forever. What a horse!! xoxoxoxo Gala

He enjoyed his breakfast, after his morning grooming, he wandered out to the oak trees, laid down - for what I thought was his morning nap - Fin started hopping and bouncing around him, so I went out to have Fin not annoy Rob and let him nap....I could tell this was not a 'normal nap'.... I called the Vet, he came out immediately and we decided not to interfer with Mother Nature, Rob was not in any pain. We just sat still and told Rob how much he is/was loved - let his herd mates nose sniff, to say good bye in thier herd way. He had not been ill, or 'off' in any manner. I have been home for the last month and spending most of my waking hours with the horses - so I would have noticed if he had been not been his usual awesome self.

Gala, my heart goes out to you. Rob was the first Safe Horse I ever met and he was always one of my favorites. What a stellar and handsome guy he was!! I am heartbroken to hear this news. Thank you so very much for giving him such a wonderful home and showering him with love. Please give Fin a hug from me...I hope he is not too lonely today. RIP Rob...you had the power to bring joy with your calm personality and beautiful, soulful eyes.
